OT - Help needed with an outfit!

I am going out for dinner the night before the wedding with OH and alot of his family (they will be up in scotland from wales for the wedding).

I really want to get a new outfit to wear and I saw this dress in new look which I quite like (I have to say, it looks like it's just hanging on the model, it wasn't really like that when I tried it) and these shoes in schuh-

Problem is, I feel the dress may be a tad short, it was quite a bit above the knee when I tried it (his nan and bampi will be there and I'd like it to be a fairly smart occassion!) and I don't really like the bow on the shoes, it's just a bit big!

So can anyone help me find something similar(ish) or does anyone want the job of being my fashion co-ordinator for the evening and finding me an outfit!?

I have that dress in mink!!! I wear it with leggings or thick tights, that way it doesn't look so short (although it's not really that short!)

The dress seems perfectly fine. Regarding the shoe I can suggest you a site where you can customize as per your need. I purchased my from the site and it was perfectly fine, though it is bit pricy then the others. The site is "shoesofprey.com".

I saw this dress in New Look the other day - it's nice. i'd wear with tights in the daytime and maybe a cardi. as for the shoes you can always cut the bow off, or cut it shorter if its too faffy. i'm always ripping things off clothes or sticking stuff on xx

Thanks Mrs Spinks, I prefer the other dress, but I do love those shoes. The only thing that puts me off them is the picture of them on the girls feet on the website, they look a bit wierd, I think I might be best actually going to try them! x
