OT - Honeymoons in Spain

ExcitedBride.com, 21 March, 2012 at 16:11 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi All,

We are having our honeymoon in Spain for a number of reasons. We are hiring a villa are so excited to be having two weeks in the sun to relax and unwind straight after the wedding.

People ask me and I tell them, Im all excited whilst doing this, people pull a 'face' and I feel as though I have to justify my reasons for going to Spain.

Honestly................is it weird/wrong to be honeymooning in Spain???

Nothing wrong with it at all ... at the moment we are planning on going to Barcelona for a week.

We get the same, who cares what other people think as long as you are excited that's all that matters!

Why would it be a problem. Lots of people can't afford any honeymoon and sme stay in this country.

Well if it makes you feel any better we are most likely going to France a la Eurocamp for our holiday! I was looking into more luxurious things but we now think it will be a good idea to go away with my oh's sister and her husband as they have two young boys and our son will have a lot more fun and be a lot easier with people to play with...happy Nicholas = happy parents!

Not at all. If you want almost guaranteed sunshine, it's a great place for a honeymoon. We went to Torremollinos for ours in 1983 but stayed just outside in Benalmadena (sp?) It was quieter than Torremollinos but as it was positioned between there and Fuengirola, if we wanted nightlife, we weren't too far away. I think a lot of people think of Spain as being a bit like the Benidorm we see on TV and, although some areas of Spain are very British, there are also loads of places where you can experience true Spanish atmosphere. You'll have a great time!
