O/T How Childish can men be sometimes?!

Broody_wife, 20 January, 2010 at 20:42 Posted on Planning 0 29

I was on the phone to my mum, and OH started playing Call of Duty MW2 on the PS3. With all the guns, bombs and people shouting I couldn't hear a thing, so I politely asked him to turn it down a bit. At exactly the precise second he turned it down the game crashed, so I sniggered, was an automatic reaction. lol

Anyway, he switches it off, and back on and it's still frozen on the same screen. So he does it again, and again, and again. Still the same, by now my mums in fits of laughter as he's seriously freaking out. So I said I'd call her back, Oh says "Could you not have went into the room or the kitchen with the phone and this wouldn't have happened?!?

Am I wrong in saying the TV remote has NOTHING to do with the PS3? So I just laugh and he says "i'm glad you find it funny, i'm supposed to be playing a game at 8." I went to find the warranty as the PS started making a reeeeeaaaaallly loud sound. He's huffing and puffing slams his controller down on the couch and hits google, to see if theres a fix.

Luckily the machine started working again, but honestly, he reacted the way my neice does when we tell her she can't have anymore chocolate!! lol

Why is everything our fault when we don't do anything?! lol

I think I might be able to trump you on this one! We have:

1 x PC (with double screens so he can play games on on and surf net on the other at the same time!)

    2 x laptops

    1 x PS2

    1 x PS3

    1 x Xbox

    1 x Wii

    1 x DS

    1 x PSP

    2 x Iphones

1 x HTPC ( a computer hooked up to the TV so he can play all of the old Nintendo/Mega Drive games!)

Honestly, I have to book a time slot with my OH if I want to even speak to him! haha. Like you said, god forbit if one of them broke, I'd move out!

Blimey well and truely trumped! he wants to get dual monitors for the pc as he has them at work (and a lot of other techy gadgets which i think fulfills his needs and why the house isnt overrun tbh!) as if the current monitor isnt big enough! its a 20inch flat screen that's better than the tv in our room!!

Oh wow,,lol. I thought it was just my husband who was like that, lol. I have to say, he did give up online gaming a few years back now, (I keep him too busy with the photography thing, lol). But at one point, he was really addicted to playing Unreal Tournament. From morning til very late at night. It was really frustrating. I think it's a guy thing,, they get to flex their testoterone or something when they are gaming. I did used to laugh when he would get killed and screamed like a girl, because his character often WAS a girl, (apparently girl are harder targets to hit than the male ones,, whatever, lol)

We must be in the dark ages (or I'm lucky!) in our house. We've a computer & a wii. He's got old playstation at his parents but thats about it.

He does have mega mardies on the wii tho when it doesn't do what he tells it, he swings the controller round (as if that'd make a difference!) then shouts at it. He's thrown the controller down before so he gets told (like u'd tell a 4 yr old) 'i'll take it off you if u don't behave!' he either laughs cos he realises how stupid he's being or i get a 'shurrup!!'

You ladies just don't understand or have a grip of the bigger picture here about the Alpha male elements involved in the dynamics of the environment that the games bring to their position in life. It IS all important, and you don't appreciate this...........

    OK, I AM bullsh1tting?

    I stick to minesweeper....

We men are NOT childish<stamps foot icon>

Perhaps I am just jealous because when I was young, all we had was dominoes, only 3 tv channels and most of the day they were on testcard !!!!!

OMG thank god it's not just in my house. I have to say I often tell OH "I'll take it off you if you don't behave" and get hit with a torrent of "Well if that idiot was watching my back I wouldn't have gotten killed" IT'S JUST A GAME!!!!lol

It's an automatic response for us to laugh if they die during a game or get frustrated, as they do act like children. But if I'm playing something and can't do it, I just sulk, no screaming or shouting, I only sulk because OH says "Uch give me that its easy" - if it was easy I wouldn't be getting so frustrated!!! lol

As for the BBQ, OH ALWAYS arranges them, starts the BBQ up, then I get left to do the cooking, because if it was up to him or my Father, the food would be cremated. So just goes to show women ARE better cooks! lol
