O/T - how long have you been with your current company?

brideseekingblush, 17 May, 2010 at 15:52 Posted on Planning 0 16

Just curious really. I've been at my current place two years, but in two different roles.

Almost 3 years - 2 years in one role, nearly a year in my current role.

I started working here as a temp, on Wednesday I'll have been here two years - and I'm still a temp.

My boss has been trying to make me permenent since about two months after I started, but with everything that's going on here it's still not happened!

    Sigh.

    Good Luck Snap!

Twinnie PML. Actually got one from your colleague Sherryl today, I felt spurned by you.

Thanks for all the replies ladies. I was just wondering - sometimes it feels like you have to be constantly moving forward doesn't it, but I'm actually reasonably happy where I am..

Apparently once you've contracted/temped with the same company for 2 years, the taxman will now see it as your permanent work place or something along those lines and your tax circumstances may change. Worth looking in to that! I only found that out today...

I'm currently temping and have been since Sept 2008 for the same company, the role has technically been the same but the workload has changed absolutely loads since I started. Apparently I was on the list to be converted to perm from a couple of months after I joined but the company had to freeze all convert to perms until recently. They offered me a perm role today Smiley smile I'm leaning towards yes, but want to go through all the pay and benefits stuff and talk to the OH about things and to let them stew for a while before I start negotiating the terms of me becoming perm!

i've been working in the same hospital, in the same job, for 3 years and 2 months! looking for a job nearer the OH now. He's a farmer so he won't be able to move nearer me. I dont really wanna give up the radiography, after 4 yrs at uni, and 3 yrs workin to be a farmers wife full time just yet.
