I got 16/20 too. The meanings stumped me a bit!!

18/20 dont ask me to do the maths one next week, I really cannot do maths and got a very poor mark at school.

Got 17 too - got mixed up between similes and metaphors...

i think even if there were boys at our school (i went to the same one as KT) they wouldn't have been a distraction - the boys at our twin school were not overly attractive...

We had the opposite problem!! There was a good selection of lookers. But we all know looks aren't everything.....blah blah blah!!

Oh dear as a teacher in the making should perhaps have done better than 17/20 ? Didn't know that the word meant quiet, and spelling has never been my strong point ️?️ (runs and hides) However must have been an English teacher that made up the test as some of the select a word questions are not even similar with a Scottish accent ? Anyway I shall away and drown my sorrows in a cup of tea....

Full marks, but as an English teacher I'd have had to hang my head in shame at any less! ?

That said, I wasn't impressed with the "food for thought" question. That's both metaphor and alliteration, so it was unfair to put both those options in the list. Did anyone choose alliteration? Did it say yes to that answer too, or mark you wrong?
