o/t ish Anyone use Norethisterone?

ashmegdj, 21 May, 2009 at 13:11 Posted on Planning 0 9

This is a pill that delays your period.

I went to see the FP nurse yesterday and she said she would prescribe me this to stop me having my period on my wedding day or whilst away on our honeymoon.

Just wondered if anybody else had taken this?

I used it once years ago and it turned me into a hormonal, aggressive, foul tempered loon. Which may not be the best start to your married life ?

Or I might start as I mean to go on?! ?

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good though.

Well quite, he may as well get used to it early on!

In my defence though, I was having all sorts of period problems at the time, had been bleeding for weeks and recently diagnosed with PCOS so that may not be the norm.

I think FML used it without any problems

I am planning on using it.

It sounds odd but try posting this question on Baby Talk - as they might have more advice.... I did when i had questions about the coil

I took this on HM as I was due around that time. I can't remember much, but I think the first day I felt a little off - a tiny bit sick and dizzy etc, luckily we were just by the pool so I just relaxed through it ... I then stopped taking it once we arrived back in the UK and again I can't really remember how my period was after, but it came pretty much exactly 3 days after the last pill and I don't think it was any worse than usual. Would take it again for an occasion like this!

I took this 3wks ago, as have PCOS and endometreosis and period was due on wedding day/honeymoon.

NO problems at all with it and wouyd take it again if necessary, also would highly recommend. No pian or bloatedness, when period arrived was just like a normal one. I had 14 days worth of tablets xx

I've taken it a few times, last time was a month ago as AF was due when we were on holiday.

It's worked every time for me.

    Hi

I have taken it loads of times, never had a problem with it. Only thing I would say is try and take the tablets at the same time of the day and don't miss one, doesn't take much for you to have a breakthrough bleed, but they work a treat.

Slightly odd a bloke posting on this thread so please forgive me..........I wouldn't usually read a post like this if I didn't recognise the medication in the thread title..........My wife suffered severe monthly issues for many years. This drug suited her well and has been a lifesaver for her. It may not be the same for all, although in controlling her severe lady "problems", it was the only thing that worked. She has used it for 10+ years......

    OK....blokepost over........
