OT - I've broken my wrist :-(

Blackkat, 27 January, 2010 at 12:21 Posted on Planning 0 19

I can't believe it, just a simple trip at work & i managed to fall & break my wrist. Got to have it in plaster for 6 weeks :-( I know I'm very lucky that wasn't my right hand (or my head!) but its so sore. I suppose it'll mean more time for hitching as I'm taking at least 1 week off.

Also I want to keep on track with my weight loss, anyone know roughly how much a finger to elbow cast might weigh?

Aww Thats such a shame, Yay to more Hitching though!!

When was your last weigh in without it?? If you know your last weigh in weight, and you've not had much time to lose anything, weigh yourself again and see if you have a gain, subtract that from the total weight and then you'll know the weight of it.

Thanks for all your kind words ~ thankfully its not so close to the wedding!

We had pizza last night but i could only manage half of it & even that didn't stay down. Obviously my body doesn't want me to give up being healthy. I weighed myself this morning & its almost the same as a few days ago so maybe it doesn't weigh as much as it feels!

Oh no! Hope it's heals quickly. I broke my arm when I was younger so I know what a pain it is.

On the bright side, at least it wasn't closer to the wedding unlike poor Nicky last year who broke her wrist right before her wedding. She wore gloves on the day to cover her strapping!

As someome who broke my right wrist and 6 bones in my left hand at the same time, I would recommend buying a couple of squash balls. When the plaster comes off squeezing these squash balls is a great exercise that speeds recovery.

I feel you pain so as to speak....
