Nona you are one crazy/brave lady going to Tesco on what is probably their busiest day of the year! Ours opened at 9 for browsing. I popped in for a few baking bits at 9.45 and it was packed already, even more so when I left at 10.15!!

Today I have made mincemeat parcels - still trying to use up the 4lb of mincemeat I made a couple of weeks ago!I have also made a load of cookies, me and h2b are going to dip them in chocolate after lunch. Going to make apple crumble later too. Was going to do rocky road but forgot to buy the mini marshmallows!

Later on I am going to wrap the last 2 presents and see what crap delightful programs they have on telly for this evening.

Well i have attempted to do some house work and laundry so that I have clean clothes to wear when we go to Wales for Xmas.

Off to library and shops for a bit in a minute then round to my parents tonight for dinner as its Chanukah (jewish festival)................

But would rather stay in my pjs eating mince pies

    Those puppies are so cute.

Zippy -that's impressively productive. I can't do loads of baking or I'll just eat it all ?

It's quite lucky that I don't like mincepies or apple crumble. But I have had about 3 cookies already!

What is Chanukah? I've heard of Hanukah. Didn't realise you were Jewish.

Long time no post (I'm like the trains!!)

Been to church this morning to hear our bands being read for the second time,

Run the gauntlet that is the local supermarket for a bottle of milk,

Taking my kids out to the staff Xmas party at work,

    Working tonight until 6am.

It may be the shortest day of the year but generally Sundays feel long to me as I'm usually up from 9am through till 8am the next morning ?

Forgot to add that I am going to the family Carol Service this evening in the church we are getting married in, bit nervous as I haven't been to church for a long time and never that one, so will also see the vicar for the first time before we meet properly.

I haven't actually been to church since I was about 12 and we used to have to get dressed up. Is this still the case? Or can I wear jeans?

Jeans are not frowned on in church - few people seem to go in their sunday best anymore!!

Tesco carpark was chokka so we are going tonight instead....

we are going to the church where we are getting wed, on xmas eve for the carol concert. Thought we'd go see the minister, re-aquaint ourselves with the place and have a good sing song. Rather looking forward to it, except I'll have to practice me quiet singing voice as im very loud. Havent been in the church since i was 18 and singing at a cousins wedding!

I work for Tesco and (oh the joy) we open tonight at midnight. Hopefully it's quiet and I can do my shopping when I finish my shift instead!

We're off to church for a carol concert on Xmas eve too - the vicar said it would be 'nice to see us there' which I took as a 'keep me sweet' seeings as he's very strict and shouldn't really be marrying us as we don't live in the parish.

Needless to say I'm standing near the back as I'm tone deaf ?

    Evening all,

i braved bluewater today as my birthday money was burning a hole in my wallet! but i didn't find anything in particular i wanted, just spent a bit on new mascara and a lipgloss. think i am going to leave it til the new year and maybe see if ipod touch prices come down and put the rest of the money towards that...

well i only need to get cream, custard and ingredients for delia's squishy chocolate log for christmas day, as we are heading to mum's for christmas day and all foodie bits have been divided equally between the 19 of us - will head to waitrose tomorrow lunchtime to get it all.

    how is everyone?

ps happy chanukah sg45! <subtle hint> when are you going to start organising the january london meet?!? ?

Yeah it was lovely. went to my mums in the morning where my 3 cousins, aunt and uncle and grandparents were and we had scones with jam and cream - yuuuuum! (i think it was because mum had been babysitting the 3 girls overnight, and making the scones in the morning was more of a diversion than anything else!) saw my friend, her H and daughter in the afternoon, and went home for curry and SCD in the evening. so it was lovely!

am all done with presents thank god! blitzed it all on thursday night.

thank god it's not blowing a gale here - bit windier than normal but not too bad at all. my FIL said that it's been shocking all week up there!
