O/T Should i be worried??

Ema78, 10 January, 2010 at 20:02 Posted on Planning 0 8

As my OH and i have got a tight budget for the wedding and close family friends daughter offered to do our photography for the day. She has just due her A Levels and got good marks, has good equipment and other stuff.

The problems is she keeps on arranging to do photo's with us (like test shots) but never shows up. She had arranged to come to my daughters 4th birthday party yesterday to take some pics for us and once again she didnt show, when we contacted her she was in bed!!! We now dont have money for a proper photographer. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Not sure what else to say other than i would probably be concerned over this, maybe you could just have a chat with her and say you are quite anxious about it and are keen to get some shots asap x

Sorry but id say no, dont use her. She's clearly unreliable. Your wedding photos are not something to be messed with. Do you know anyone else who would be willing to help you out?

Totally agree with Teehee here. If you look around you will find professional tog's have different packages for all budgets. Our package was £350 which i think is really cheap and worth the peace of mind. For £350 our tog was there for 3 hours, took hundreds of lovely photographs and put them all on a disc for us. Then in our time we got the ones we liked printed.

Totally agree with teehee and moonmin - if shes unrealiable at this stage then that can never be a good thing.

I think you should see the writing on the wall and start looking for another photographer.

I agree with the others, a few pictures for the mantlepiece maybe, but this is your wedding day, its one of the most important days of your life and you really don't want to risk her not showing up or something going wrong,

If she was serious she would be there on time etc, as this is experience for her!!

I agree maybe look around for a tog who will give you a reasonable price, My friend is doing ours for £350 as he doesnt normally do weddings, but I know he is reliable...

Yes you should be worried. You don't need the worry because no matter what she says you will worry both about whether she will turn up and what the photos will be like. You don't get a second chance so I would cut back on something else and start looking around. Maybe put out a photography post on here and someone might be free that day.

Thanks all of you, you have all said what i have been thinking but it sinks in when it comes from others. The wedding is less then 4 weeks away so i know i cutting it fine!! Im going to do alot of riging around today but will report back after work . I do think that she isnt taking this seriously, but at the time was grateful for the offer. As for cutting back on something i have been through my list and cant find anything due to the wedding budget being so small. i think i might have to ask my family for financial help as my OH parents have already given us £500.
