Hey there....

A while ago I was going about the mirror we had bought with our wedding money at the bargain price of £75 bucks! So we have finally hung it on the wall. Eventually, the doors will all be changed in the house and the wood stain will be removed......

I also bought a frame for Oskar as hes such a good model......

so firstly, my talented husband put this up tonight..

Oooh DIY and a cat! nice one!

mirror looks fantastic, and the cat pics are beautiful - you've given me inspiration to start thinking of some artwork to put up. been trying to go back to art again for ages but just have no time (or space) to work on it at the moment - and there always seem to be more urgent things to do.

O/T do you have a sander? We're looking into buying one now as doing the walls with the tiny one we borrowed is becoming s nightmare and slowing everything down...

    More More!

my camera is broken so no pics for a while - also lost the receipt (boo!) so can't get it fixed for free...

Love your mirror, we've just replaced a tiny wee mirror in our bathroom with a HUGE one and I can't believe the difference a mirror can make, seems so much bigger and brighter.

    Oskar is very photogenic x

We have the roof man in at the moment spraying the place....Oskar wasnt happy that we didnt let him out till the van had arrived.....

I am creating a gallery in the hall, a mix of photos and pictures and later i'm off to Matalan to buy more oak picture frames.....I think I might have to ask Santa for a new camera as I really love my photography but my digi camera looks positively prehistoric now!.....Our Arty frame shop closed down though which is a pain in the butt.

Hubby burnt the living room carpet this morning when a hot lump of log rolled out of the stove, grrrrrr.

Love it, I love big mirrors. We have one at the bottom of stairs it makes the area so much lighter and the area so much bigger they are good.

We are currently doing up are bedroom, new skirting etc. H but shelving within the old chimney breast in our dining room, which is lovely when lit up. So have asked nicely if we can have a smaller version in our bedroom. As we will never put anything againt the chimney breast and it will be nice to put a photo or 2 into it. No lightening required, but not needed h said more work! But will be great when done. Only been sleeping on the matteress on the floor since saturday had enough already. Want the bedroom finished yesterday! Stamps feet... ?

Oh i know that feeling fiona!

Sander tango? well OH has one, its just a Bosch job, its okay I guess. We are fortunate that the walls are platerboard so no sanding neccessary. Its lovely moving into an old property which is all new on the inside! I have a wee mouse one (somewhere) but I wouldnt use it on walls, id be there for ever!

Hmm I'm going to get ready to go into town and already feeling nervous about the drive. (I've been barely driving myself around so my nerves are still about!)

Ha Ha don't ask ? We only have the 3 bedrooms to do now and ours is 1st. We started it last weekend, removing the dreaded woodchip from the ceiling. But its gone now! H has put the light central which is already better. Just need to finish the picture rail removing the old paint and fill around it. Then that can be stained in Oak. The rest is down to Hubby now! Not me I have done my bit, his is now the hard work. We have the carpet ready and paper picked. H is working a good hour from home at the moment leaving a 6 in the morning so not in the mood to do it at night. So its weekends, hoping cross fingers in about 3 weeks or so.

Have photos of the whole house being restored should load them on to photobox. As they are in an album. Downstairs is finished it took us 4 months to do that, extensions etc knocking down walls etc and we moved in 2 days before xmas. So trying to keep the house clean and tidy so its not such a mesh. The conservatory has been handy for storage. But hate sleeping on the floor already!

OMG Fiona that is a lot of work!! Good luck, we did the entire downstairs too last year, it's not good is it?!?!?!

You lucky girl free mirrors... the things I get free are cleaning materials from site when he starts a new job!

It is for the hubby ? I did the stripping of the paper or some it and the picture rail with the heat gun. Then all the nice bits new bedding, curtains, wallpaper and carpet. The rest is really down the hubby now. Its a good job he is joiner and can do most things, just need to treat the wood worm, which is a job for me! He pulled alott of faces last night with my ideas for the chimney breast. But as I kept saying it will look nice......... There is only the fire to knock out then we can really start putting it back.

Like to take the pictures though, as I have done with the whole house from the old to the new. So thats one of the reasons the pics on camera. Do h head with camera and sweeping up and tidying up all the time ?

Ooooo fiona, how delightful! My old flat looked like that too when I was preparing it for selling.....turned out beautifully which im sure yours will too. I am loving your bedroom door, thats the style Id like for here but think I'll have to settle for the panelled ones instead. Thats a real vintage style you got there!

I've just spent my afternoon wasting printer ink and making up my hall way art gallery... i'll go and take a photie and post it...

Thank you teehee we had the doors dipped and stripped they are the original 1930's and we have waxed and stained them did the same with the stair case. But did it by hand, was hard work but is one hell of a striking feature when you walk in the front door. We are changing the doors we think to oak as that is what are living room door is. Just need to see if one will fit the bathroom as odd size!

Loving the picture of the wall, can you come and do mine??? Bit of a travel, all our picture frames are oak. asda is a good place for them to.

If you are after a new camera the panasonic lumix 12 meg is briliant and fits great in your bag.

I've asked if we can put most back into storage but he says no! Theres a double bed under all that too. Dont think we'll be having any guests soon!

Fiona the work you put in its admirable! well done, we have a long way to go yet....

teehee love your pic wall - beautifully composed as well.

Now I wish my camera was working so I could flash a few pics - would mostly bee of horrible existing decor though as we haven't progressed very much.

Well today, despite all his hard work the pond is stillllllllll leaking and he thinks its the waterfall, despite all the work hes done on it....

We have installed the cat flap too which Oskar went through out into the unknown but I dont think he knows how to get back in as hubby found him sitting at door. And Ive put a shelf up above my desk, had to get some help in the end but its there! Dont know how much it will hold but its a shelf!

Also, I seem to have acquired more stationary than WH Smiths. I have approx 1000 plastic wallets/polylopes and about 500 biro pens. I think I might have a problem! lol

What cat flap did you get, teehee? I'm looking at those ones which react to their chip, wandering if its worth it... (there are quite a few cats on our street but how many will come through to another's house, I don't know).

I' with you on the stationary hoarding - I had a massive bag to go through when we moved... then decided I didn't have time to test all those pens - so they all came with us (as well as bags of other stuff I couldn't be bothered to go through).

Went to pets at home and got a 4 way one. Open/Close. Closed. In only and Out only. I didnt hear of one reacting to their chip..... we did consider an infra red one but thought he might lose the key lol. Hes come home and gone barmy, like hes been smoking pot round the back of the wood pile or summat. Crazy cat. It was 16.99 so not bad at all.

I'm about to sort out my cork pin board. We were supposed to go to tescos tonight but thats never happened. Oops.

Ooh sounds like a good deal (flap). we got something from the chip people advertising the chip flap - but thats about 100 quid.... not money that I can spare on that at the moment to be honest.

Thank you, the arial man came last night so hubby just has to channel the route for the cables to put the tele on the wall. He has a bit of work this weekend but will be fine. His plan is to plaster the window make the chimney breast hole and cross fingers put the coving up. We will have to see!

The mirror looks fab and you have a very photogenic cat!!

Our next job is the bathroom I think, but will need to save for a little while before we can do that (probably shouldn't be spending money on tattoos, but I can't help it!)
