I've used this company a number of times over the years,

    www.direct-travel.co.uk.

They have different levels of cover including one for airline failure. We are using them for our honeymoon to USA, £56 for 14 days, although don't know if they charge extra for children. I know that with the post office, kids go free and I think (not 100% though) that they also cover airline failure.

I've used Atlas before http://www.atlasdirect.net/main.asp We now have a Royalities account with the Royal Bank of Scotland which covers all our holidays. Might be worth looking into as I know both RBS and HBOS have similar deals where you pay them a fixed rate each month but offers heaps of rewards like holiday insurance, home emergency cover, mobile phone cover, AA breakdown etc. We had to call out an emergency plumber once and the bank arranged it all and paid for it so we saved a fortune.

We use Altas travel insurance. My OH was in hospital while we were in Egypt last year and all we did was send a fax and a phone call and they paid the hospital in full so no need to pay for that and claim it back at a later date. For me that was all we wanted out of our travel insurance! We recommend them to everyone.. cheap too! x

Whichever company you go for, do read the policy wording! They vary widely in what they cover, what they exclude and the excess you pay. I looked at loads of different ones recently and in the end plumped for Marks and Spencer because it covered me for UK travel as well. Many didn't.
