OT Zorbing

Katie V, 14 May, 2008 at 17:37 Posted on Planning 0 13

Hello

I'm trying to think of something exciting me & my fella can do as a birthday surprise for him. And thought about Zorbing. You can have the two of you in a ball together so will pay for that. I think he'll be really surprised!

I just wanted to know if anyone has done it - & if it is really scary!!

xx

I think it looks like a great laugh. Go for it

I would love to do it!

H2B's best mate got married a couple of weekends ago, and he bought H2B and all the ushers a Zorbing experience as thier gift! I'm so jealous!

They are going in the summer and H2B wants to do the one where they chuck water in with you so you get soaked.

I think it's a great idea. I'd imagine it'd be a bit scary but definitley worth it!

OK - I think I'll have to go for it! I was looking at the one with the water chucked in too - but to be fair I think I'll have enough to deal with! He's done bungee jumps etc so he should be ok - just a bit concerned about me! Haven't been seeing him long & want to get something different & exciting therefore making myself look great! ? Will keep you posted!

And if I do it & really like it - you'll all have to go too!

    xx

I've done it, my brother bought it for me and the other half for Crimbo!!!!

Its the funniest thing EVER.......I had thought about the scare factor but i just laughed and laughed and laughed, think it adds to the giggles doing a "double zorb" as your facing each other and can see the other person whilst you're rolling down, tee hee!!

I'll see if i can find some pics....

Here's the link to the video if it works....i recommend viewing with sound

This is the video of a water one

    https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=13509616125

but doesn't look half as fun imo, you don't go upside-down and it's just for single riders plus if it's not warm i can imagine it being pretty miserable.

The lad fell out of the hole at the end of this one.....and most of the girls that had booked water rides asked to swap to harness when we were there!

But would defo recommend the harness, only downer is it doesn't last long enough!

Yeah - the thought of falling out of it really doesn't appeal!!!!! And as said if it's a naff day being wet will be awful!

Will keep you posted ladies - and if I like it, we should all meet up & do it, as there seems to be a few of you saying you'd like to!

    xx

We zorbed down a huge ramp in Thailand and I'm the biggest wimp going but loved it. We were both harnessed in and all I can remember is watching Mr B's face as we bounced down and wondering if we'd be able to stop at the bottom or whether we'd bounce off into oblivion ?

I went zorbing in NZ and it's great fun. If it's hot - go for the wet option, but I think in the UK I'd probably go for the dry one. See how you feel about being strapped in. If you're a thrill seeker then don't. I don't think where I did it you could opt out. It was brilliant though. Have fun!

    Hey,

I did this for H2Bs bday last year -we did Aqua sphereing -sphereing is another name for Zorbing.

Aqua sphereing meant the ball was half filled with water which was HILARIOUS. Although you can do it dry. youre not strapped in in the water one, just have to link arms, we were in hysterics all the way down the hill -big one in hertfordshire.

Booked it through Virgin -see link below.

    Enjoy! xx

My friend paid for her hubby to do it for his birthday and he loved it! I think it looks fab, I shall get round to going one day!! You slide around in the ball rather than turning upsidedown so you don't get thrown around that much
