OU disaster - not mine!

Flowery the Grouch, 30 January, 2009 at 15:22 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

Oh dear. A poor woman in my tutor group thoughtt he date for the final piece of work (ECA so no extensions) was febuary, when in fact it was january. How horrible for her. And all her contributions to the forum have been excellent too.

I do dread that, just completely mis-reading the deadlines.

Probably, unless she is very good at sweet-talking. ☹️

Unfortunately our tutor forum died a death after christmas. There was no input or feedback from the tutor at all, he was rubbish (and I will be comlaining on the feedback form), and everyone just drifted away. I think the Christmas break really didn't help.

I start my final module tomorrow, then by october should have a degree. hurrah. fingers crossed.

How fab! What subject are you studying? Is it worked related or just for personal interest?

I sooooo want to get myself a degree (I went the got-a-job-after-alevels route, and bitterly regret it). But not sure what to choose... something job related or a subject that's purely as an interest/hobby?

    How awful!

I've just started a Masters online. When I say just started, I mean I have started reading a bit but not actually done any work yet... I can't remember how I used to motivate myself to study?

It's career related, but not job related (as I don't have a job!) I'm doing the MSc in Science, doing all the science communications modules.

My second year of OU is due to start tomorrow with pre-course stuff, I've read through the course books and they are waaayyyy harder than last year! Not at all confident that this year will go as well as last. Good luck if you're a bit further into your degree than I am!

I'll be 32 about 2 weeks before my course finishes. Anyway, I may already have a degree, but you will have 3(?) books published by then! A far greater achievement in my eyes.
