Outfit help please (accessories related)

Maxi, 20 July, 2009 at 21:30 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

I bought this dress from Monsoon today

It is to wear for my H's 40th birthday on Saturday (meal then drinks). I found the dress really flattering when I tried it on, which is fortunate as everything else i've been trying on for the last few weeks made me feel like a heifer - I just can't help but think that it is a little boring "you always wear black" as my Mum would say.

My initial thought were black opaque tights with shoes similar to these - but closed toe.

But i'm now thinking perhaps I should have nude legs with strappy sandals to brighten the dress up?

Also could I get away with any jewellery at all (thinking choker type necklace in silver with matching bracelet) or would this be a no-no?

Thanks in anticipation of help.

    Thanks for your reply.

Hmm, i'm not sure if my shoes would go with nude legs, they are kind of verging on the shoe/boot style, that's why I was thinking sandals. I'll give it a go though and see how it looks!

I can't wear earings, think i'll just stick to a bracelet.

It's kind of a hard dress to pair up with shoes isn't it? I'd really like to see another colour but not sure how it'd work. I think a bracelet/bangle is enough though. I don't think sandals would work, i'd go for something with a closed toe.

Where's KB3 when you need her? She's always good for teaming stuff up.
