Outrageous by Kerry Katona

Minx Sauce, 4 November, 2008 at 10:15 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 16

No matter how gorgeous this smelt, I could never buy a bottle. I'm sure that makes me a snob, but hey... so be it ?.

Am I the only one that feels like this? What products can't you buy because of association?

My dad wears Sean Jean ? It actually smells really nice. Mum wears the female version!

I can't really think of anything to be honest although it's never occurred to me to try many of the 'celeb' fragrances, I think possibly the only one i've ever picked up was JLo Glow, just out of curiosity.

JLo and Sarah Jessica Parker are just about OK (although I've not bought any), but any other bandwagon type celebrity perfumes I will not even touch.

SIL & BIL bought me one of the Britney Spears ones and it was gorgeous! SIL said she tried loads but that was the nicest. They got me a gift receipt so I could change it, but I kept it and even bought a second bottle when it ran out.

I couldn't buy any Jade Goody item.

    I wouldn't buy Jade Goody's, KK's or Paris Hilton's

I too have the Jlo one and SJP one. Both Christmas pressies from B and SIL. Wouldn't have bought them myself but they aren't too bad really. I prefer the SJP one, Jlo is a bit too "heady" for me and in fact gives me a headache if I'm not careful.

Ooh, just remembered, H bought be Kylie's one last Christmas, maybe in the vain hope that a squirt of her perfume might transform me into a size 6 starlet, alas, this didn't happen! Pleasant enough smell, a bit too sweet for my liking though.

I wouldn't buy Kerry Katona, Jade Goody, Posh and Becks etc. For no other reason that snobbery I think. ?

Mine is totally down to snobbery/embarassment I think.

Even if it was gorgeous... the minute someone comments and says "Oh that's a gorgeous smell, who is it?", I think I would die if I had to say "It's Kerry Katona actually"

    ?

I like really unusual fragrances, so I always steer clear of the more mainstream ones, which I suppose includes celebrity endorsed products. Having said that, I nearly dry humped a woman on the plane back from manchester the other week because she smelled so nice, and for the first time ever I had to ask a stranger what fragrance they were wearing (something which greatly embarasses me usually for some reason). (it was stella mccartnery peony apparently).

There are often fragrances about like that that you never see over here but you may get abroad. My sis used to wear a lovely Salvador Dali perfume that wasn't available in the UK, Eternity also brought out a lot of fragrances that I haven't seen so much over here, like Eternity Purple and Eternity Rose. I wear Stella McCartney sometimes.

One of H's favourites is Boss Elements Aqua, you can get it online but I've not really seen it in many of the shops.

I wouldn't buy it either. I remember ages ago there was a thread on here about what she should call the perfume and I think the winner was something like Pramface ?

My SD has the Birtney Curious perfume and Christina Aguillera (her first one) they both smell really nice and I must admit I've had a few sprays myself.

We've bought her the Gwen Stefani Lamb for Christmas.

My sister wears SJP Covert which smells gorgeous on her and I quiet like one of Mariah's ones (purple bottle).

I wouldn't buy Kerry Katona though.

Somebody got me the JLo one as a pressie, I would never have gone ner it but I really liked it and have bought another bottle since. My favourite perfume is a burberry one and I get embarassed when people ask me what it is as it conjures up images of teenagers in checked baseball caps etc (maybe that's just me though ?).

I wouldn't but KK or Jade Goody, and I think I'd associate things like Britney Spears' one with being aimed at younger girls so probably wouldn't go for that either.

This happened to me in work the other week - was away for a meeting and found that i'd left my usual perfume at home. Purely by chance i had some of my sister's stuff in my car, and so had a squirt of her Paris Hilton perfume. Someone asked what perfume I was wearing and i just sort of made a coughing muttering i'm not sure noise. Cue the managing director piping up "oh i noticed before you're wearing the same perfume as my daughter today - Paris Hilton isn't it?"

    Cringe ?

I bought the Christina Aguilera perfume for my friend earlier this year. I actually spent a long time choosing it as I was worried she might be put off by the celeb/snobbery thing, but the fragrance had similarities with others I knew she liked (esp Chanel), and I thought it suited her.

I would absolutely never buy KK or Jade Goody
