Own Vows / Four Weddings

TBH - I can't see how having a film crew and 3 random "brides" at my wedding would be anything other then distracting from the real meaning of the day.

Not for me I'm afraid but each to their own! Just make sure you have really thought it through you can't undo it once it is done.

I can't please my own mother let alone 3 other brides who want to win so might ruin me.. sorry honey! I would always want to be the nice bride as there always the nice one, the class A ***, the drinker and the one you feel sorry for!!

Writing your own vows sounds lovely.. i think you just have to imagie that there not there..

O and on a nosey point.. do they pay for you to go to the other weddings?? I'd like that bit ?

Mine wants to do DTTB but i think the bride always comes off looking bad on that show and very ungratful during the planning!

I think you are bonkers lol, I couldnt think of nothing worse than having me wedding invaded by camera men, the whole day being scrutinised you must have the thickest skin, all the same I wish you all the best and I am sure it will be a great experience x

i havent ever really watched that properly, but to be honest, i dont get it. surely you'd sit down with you oh and tell them EXACTLY what you want beforehand??

I would defo let him plan our wedding.. bcus i'm here he thinks he can get away with sweet talk to get out of it lol!! Honestly i thought i would love the whole wedding planning but i don't!! *red face & runs from the room*! Its all just to many decisions!! Luckily my sister CB is booking me to do things otherwise i would just hide from it all

I wouldn't worry about what the film crew/other brides etc will think about your vows. Its all about you and your H2B so I would say just tell him how you feel in your vows.

I always watch this program, and although my OH would never agree to it, I have always wondered what it would be like to be on the show, or know someone who had been on it.

Things I have learnt from watching the show is:

Be yourself, and be honest, but not to the point of being blatantly rude.

Never spit out your food or pull funny faces when the camera is looking.

Enjoy yourself and be a fun part of the other brides days. (dont just sit in a corner)

The more traditional style weddings seem to get the most votes (not that you would want to change your day just to win!) hehe

I love watching four weddings and think you are really brave. The narrator is so funny. I guess when you are the bride appearing you are so excited/nervous about the wedding you forget the 2 faced other brides, film crew , sarcastic narrator criticising your nearest and dearest and mass audience who will be scrutinising your day. You will need thick skin to watch it when it is aired that is for sure but can get your own back on four weddings revisited. Are you going to vote tactically or honestly?

I can't think of anything worse than opening up such an important and personal day to randoms, camera crew and the scorn of the narrator. Each to their own!

I feel so strongly that getting married is absolutely NOT a competition. It is a spiritual and legal commitment.

Each to their own, but I know this would have debased the meaning of it all for us. We were offered a couple of media "interferences" and turned them down immediately.

Please be sure it is what you both want to do, and of your reasons for doing it.
