Paddy screamed all the way down the motorway

Pittabre, 22 April, 2014 at 21:26 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

I took my cats to the cattery this morning in preparation for my move on Thursday. Paddy screamed all the way. Stephen just went to sleep and Ricky just did the odd mew. I then cried because Paddy screamed. Gosh it was horrible☹️

I sprayed his catbox with feliway in the days proceeding and that morning and left the box around to try and prepare him but he hated it. He possibly thinks I've returned him to the cat orphanage poor thing. Whereas the other two were fairly chilled about it all! Roll on the weekend when I can get them back!

Mine start the minute they get in the car its horrible isn't it. Im sure I watched something that said cats cry at a similar frequency to human babies and that's why it has such an effect ( this may be a made up 'fact'). Ours also look so scared when we drop them off or pick them up I'm sure they think they are being abandoned again

When we moved house I took the mogs to fil house until it was safe to get them back. They all stated crying as soon as they got in the car and them I started crying because they were. Then I cried that I felt bad I had out them under so much stress with moving. Them bella escaped her cat carrier and I had to chase her around my 106 much to the amusement if some watching builders.

A great day was had by all.

You are doing the best thing for them p, I wish you could explain to them what's happening to them and why so they diddnt look so scared. Poor puss cats.

Thank you for understanding? Stephen couldn't have cared less he was the utter opposite to Paddy. and the pitch scream sounds about right. I was doing around 50 on the motorway and a lorry came up behind me and was flashing me (he had more than enough room to overtake) but I didn't trust myself to go any faster with the commotion Paddy was making☹️

Aww hugs P. Nothing worse than stressed kittys. ☹️They will soon be in their new home and all lovely and settled. Poppy always does a nice big poo to accompany the crying as soon as we get in the car which is pleasant.

Ah sounds like a bit of an ordeal for you all, but its the best thing for them whilst you move. Paddy will be so glad to see you when you go to pick them up.

I had to take our cat Ted to the vets, he managed to escape his carrier whilst I was on a dual carriageway with the window open. I was swerving about all over the place! I quickly closed the window and slowed my speed. At the next exit I pulled over and got him back in, only for him to escape the box again! He was so upset. I have now found that if I let him sit on the parcel shelf whilst driving around he is much happier, the occasional miaow but nothing like before. Think he just wants to see whats going on.
