PAGING MOONPIG or perhaps a Florist HIB?

brideseekingblush, 6 May, 2010 at 16:56 Posted on Planning 0 8

Ladies,

When I was talking about putting together my own BM posies a week or so ago, Moonpig showed her's which were ideal, and they had some wrap on to put the posies together? she said she might be able to find which ebay seller she got them from - try as I might I can't find the right sort of thing on ebay. As I know she's not on much - painstakingly putting crystals on Aliaisp's shoes! - do any of the florist HIBs know where's a good place to get it from? The only one I've found that's right is £4.55+p&p per bouquet wrap, and I'm sure Moonpig said she got her's much cheaper...

I would just use wide ribbon and then you can either have the ends trailling or fastened like Moonpig's with 2 pins

Basically, you can do the same thing with organza ribbon. I can get them for you if you are stuck but it's not something I use myself as it works out cheaper to put your own ribbon on.

Are you using fresh or artificial flowers?

Well, you will need to keep a good 2/3" of stem showing because they'll need to be stored in water until you are ready to use them on the morning of the wedding. Once you have arranged the roses as you would like them, tie them with twine in the centre wrapping the string around several times tightly so the flowers don't slip, cover the twine with satin ribbon then overlay the satin ribbon with organza ribbon. Fold the ribbon over at the join so you have a neat edge and push a pearl headed pin through to fasten it closed. Continue with the pins along the stems and, if you like, add a trailing organza bow. Cut the stems at a sharp angle with scissors and store in a cool, dark place in just enough water to cover the stems without wetting the ribbon.

Edited to add, on the morning of the wedding after you've taken them out of the water, dry the stems so it doesn't dribble on your dress!
