Paint colours

Anyone have Farrow and Ball White tie up somewhere?

I am after a nice chalky white that's not too bluey or cold, but warmer... but nice and plain because I've got mad Cath Kidston pink rose curtains to put up and some chintzy pink and white quilt for the bed.

Is White Tie a goer for a spare room do you think? (I am going to get the colour made up by Dulux to get it cheaper ?)

Ooh I'm so excited, my entire house is being repainted inside and out [does jig] we are going to look all smart!

Oh and what does anyone think about having a snug/study (two large windows, tiny room) in F and B's french gray if the windows (sash) are white? any thoughts? too dark? It's a sort of beigey dark greyish now but I want something sort of glam that I can dress up with lighting, there's a dark wooden desk and a cream sofa in there atm and a built in cupboard which is cream.

    thankyou!

We've just had our living room painted, I looked at F&B but it was too expensive but for the study have a look at Dulux Overtly Olive. We've had that on the longest wall in our living room and I really love it. It'll go great with dark wood (we're having walnut) and it's a warm green IYSWIM, I'm so pleased with it.

Can't help on the white, it took me ages to find a flippin cream to go with the green.

Have a look on www.livingetc.com, they have a forum and someone posted their living room pics in F&B colours, they were lovely, kind of the look I was after with the Olive.

    Ooh fab, thanks!

yes F and B can be expensive and also it's a pain to work with, I hated painting it in our old house. so we're going for F and B colours and getting them colour matched!

We've got string in our room, which we already have and I like it.

I've got Antique White from B&Q in half of my kitchen, and it is a warm white. It looks similar to the sample on the F&B website although it is difficult to tell on screen.

    http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9240927&fh_view_size=6&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB&fh_search=%22antique+white%22&fh_eds=%c3%9f&fh_refview=search&ts=1215427351157&isSearch=true

The decorator I used really rated the B&Q paint. I've always found it easy to use when doing it myself.

I've tried to find some photos to show you and they are here:

Thanks KJB, I like the look of antique white. I am going to go onto Dulux now, as the F and B stuff was hideously expensive, went for white tie and string in our room (it's already string) but I am now on economy drive!!

We've got a beautiful dulux colour in our bedroom called clouded pearl (we've got the lightest version), it's sort of greyish white that changes colour according to the light and what you put next to it e.g. a blue vase makes it look bluer. Everyone compliments it (not that we have a constant stream of visitors to our bedroom but YKWIM). Not sure if it might suit your study/snug? You can't really have cream with it though - all woodwork etc in our room is white.
