Paphos, Cyprus- hotel recs?

We are thinking of going to Paphos next month and wondered if anyone had any hotel recommendations. The majority of hotels in brochures seem to be quite a way out from the harbour.

Budget £1000 per person for 14 nights all inclusive, or probably about £800 per person half board.

Thanks for any suggestions, or places to avoid!

We stayed at the Azia Beach Hotel in 2003. It is a way from the harbour, but can't tell from your post if that is what you are looking for or not. We stayed there as full inclusive but did have some meals out. There were some really nice places nearby to eat. If you want to head into the harbour area it took us 5 minutes by car so I guess a 15/20 minute walk.

I vaguely remember the St Geoge being popular on here at one point.

have you looked on www.holidaytruths.co.uk or www.tripadvisor.co.uk ?
