Party bags for children

loobylou2801, 25 July, 2013 at 22:28 Posted on Planning 0 9

We have 6 children attending our reception and wedding breakfast and I was thinking about doing some little 'party' bags to keep them amused. The children range from 7 months to 5 years and I'm struggling for ideas. So far I have face masks and bubbles, any ideas? I don't mind buying separate things for each child but have a fairly small budget.

Why not make your own wedding colouring booklet? I'm doing that. Plus stickers and bubbles and for the older ones (3-5) they're getting disposible cameras. The babies I'm buying a personalised bib with our wedding date/names and maybe a cheap toy/book to keep them occupied. Spending much more on the kids than the adult favours!

I've found some wedding activity books on eBay with crayons all tied up with our coloured ribbon. These will be out on their tables along with any other things I can find. We're having about 18 children so will be trying to keep the cost down as much as possible! Colouring usually keeps them entertained for a while.

We are likely to have a lot of children attending our wedding, so we are keeping an eye out in the local charity shops for puzzles, games etc and putting them in a wicker basket for the kids to help themselves to to play with. For the meal we will probably get some colouring or activity sheets. Our plan is to donate all the toys etc to a local childrens charity or womens refuge afterwards.

I've put in a couple of balloons for their parents to blow up, some activity books i got off ebay fairly cheap and some play doh in 2 little tub (a pack of 4 was £1). The older children i put a pack of cards in. And they are having personalised chocolates too. Doesnt need to be expensive if u keep an eye out for stuff.

Tesco had an offer on board books so I got them and colouring pencils and books for the little ones and then the older ones have colouring stuff and things like Lego sets or bracelet making kits.

I included things like crayons, colouring books and stickers for the younger ones. The older children got more activity style books and puzzles. They went down really well. I got most of my bits in tesco and one of those discounted book shops.

There are some lovely personalised activity books on eBay - I've got some which came with a box with the child's name on and have added other things into it to keep them entertained - stuff like bracelets, bouncing putty, toy cars for the boys (cheap at Tesco), bubbles, and a build your own foam plane (eBay again!). I've tried to make each box age appropriate as ours range from 1 to 7. Ebay has been very helpful though!

Yeah on ebay they've loads of colouring books / personalised boxes / bags etc which are really nice. Our son will be the only child at ours so we'll get him nice little things to play with, wish there was other children going to be there for someone for him to play with but we don't know anyone with kids his age, all older Smiley sad
You could get a little toy, bubbles, yoyo or something for the boys..loads of ideas at the party sections at asda/Tesco etc. x
