Party dec help please

pandorasbox, 20 July, 2013 at 12:22 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Any creative folks can you please help?

I'm having 6 tables at my party next Sat and hubby has decided he is doing the decor. He has so far bought these:

And plans to make a sort of centrepice using these:

Most of the glass tube thingy is empty so what can I use to fill it up a bit? I was going to do retro sweets but my mate did that as his last week so I don't feel I can now. Tissue paper maybe? I'm rubbish at this so any suggestions welcome.

Jelly beans? Coloured pebbles? Those things that you soak in water so they swell up to make marble type things? Coloured sand? A string of battery powered fairy lights?

Genius! Thanks OB. Might do a mixture of jelly beans and jelly babies!

Trouble is the tube things are narrow so people won't really be able to reach in and help themselves, which is what my mate did. So maybe coloured tissue paper to take up most of the tube and then a scattering of jelly babies/beas/skittles/MandM type things nearer the top?

It's going to look so weird, but hubs is really chuffed with himself for finding rainbow lollies (he knew I wanted it to be really bright and colourful.)

What about some wrapped sweets at the bottom where people are less likely to reach and then jelly beans/babies on top.....that way when the jellies are gone the wrapped sweets can be tipped out onto the table? Other than that gold tissue paper would look good.....google lollipop vase centrepieces and choose images, there are so many variations you may pick up ideas from there!

Would love to see the finished product. Good luck

Hi if you wanted sweets what about different coloured sherbert? or those million sweets as they would feel your vase up and your lolllipops will be wedged in so they would look good all day Smiley smile
