Your honeymoon needs to be booked in the same name as whatever your passport says- you dont have to change it to your married name immedetaly if you dont want to and with all of the wedding costs I would avoid it if you can- I had to change mine because there was only 5 months left on it after we went and it was a right hassle to get it done.

You either book your honeymoon in your maiden name and then travel on your existing passport, or if you absolutely want to go on honeymoon as Mr & Mrs X, you can change your passport a few months before you get married (But you obviously can't use it before you get married).

If you're definitely not going to need it before the honeymoon, you may as well just leave it and change it just before. You can change it three months before your wedding and it will be postdated to your wedding date. You need the ordinary passport form and another form (ask in post office) that you have you get either your registrar or vicar to fill in and sign. I've just done this. A word of warning though - we booked our flights under my married name, thinking we'd be organised and get it done in plenty of time. However, we got caught up with everything else and I ended going up to London last week to the passport office and the one day service. This does cost quite a bit more money. Tbh, I'd advise anyone who has a passport already with enough time on to leave it until after the honeymoon as it's very easy to forget with everything else there is to do!!

This came up with my travel agents and even though my honeymoon won't be till 3 months after the wedding they advised me to leave it as is. You do not want to be stressing about any delays in getting it sorted!

This might be a bit of a silly question ... but ... when ou get to your destination and tell them that you are on your honeymoon, has anyone ever had the company look at them funny, or be funny with them? I really want to be Mrs Bates when I go on holidy instead of Miss Elliott :-(
