Paul Weller at the 02 last night

Well, the mod-father can still pull it off. Very charged performance. Although, H and I were a bit disappointed, in that it was a bit of a self indulgent gig (lots of stuff from the new album/obscure older Jam songs) with maybe 4 well known old school anthems, out of a 2 hour set. The journey home was a bit of a nightmare due to tube closure and replacement bus services, but overall a good evening. Anyone else go?

We saw him play Aberdeen in November- H is a fan of the Jam.

I really enjoyed it, he is still an excellent musician. I'm not hugely familiar with his music apart from the well known tunes but had listened to 22 Dreams a lot.

Like you H was slightly disappointed with the selection of songs he did play. It's a shame he left all the anthems for his encore, a lot of people had left by then.

    Edited for poor spelling.

Oh that's such a shame. I got tickets for my Dad to see him at Brixton just before Christmas and I was sure he would be plugging a new album but he did loads of Style Council/The Jam songs.

Rusty-I really missed out there then! As I recall, the Brixton gig dates weren't that compatible with H's shift pattern back then, so I opted for the 02 in March. I don't mind the new stuff entirely, but would have much preferred a set more geared to Style Council/The Jam songs. He is still on my "allowable" list though! ?
