pc help ! DV cable and firewire

Yes, my camcorder is a dv type , i can use normal usb but it wont transfer the audio !!!

Hi, i'm no expert on PCs, not too sure if a 6 year pc will have a 1394 firewire input, look at your pc, mine is foolproof it says 1394 next to a socket, which means its a firewire input. Yours will either be a 4 or 6 pin socket. PM me if you would like to to email you of a photo of a 6 pin socket. If yours is a 4 pin on your pc, it will be the same as your camcorders socket...
