Personal question about bra sizes....

Please answer if you don't mind sharing... (i understand it is a very personal question) I was just wondering if you could post up what size top you where, and what back size you where for bras. I was just wondering if you could post up what size top you where, and what back size you where for bras.

For instance, I wear a size 12 top, but wear a size 36 bra. I have been told that this is far too large for someone of my size, but any size 34 bras I have tried on have been tight and uncomfortable.

I have now decided to take the risk and order my wedding bra in a 34 back size as it will be strapless, and I am hoping that it will give more support. I am just worried that it will be way too tight and uncomfortable for me all day long.

    WSS!

I try to make the effort to go to Bravissimo when I need a new bra, I know they cost a bit more, but I normally get a couple of good bras from them and then work out best-fit bras from cheaper retailers for round the house type days!

Dont you find that bras are like other items of clothing though... I'm a different size in every shop!!!

I'm a 14 and I wear a 34 (massive boobs which require a 14 and sometimes a 16 top to close!) anyway, when I try a 36 it's quickly up towards the middle of my shoulderblades and causes sore backs so 36 is definitely too big.

I think a good bra is quite tight, it's got a lot of support and the support is meant to come from the back not the straps isn't it? Sure I read theat somewhere.

This link might help you too: http://www.bravissimo.com/perfectfit/

If you want a good fitting I would try there. I use there but have tried:

M&S - Bra didn't fit, I spent a fortune and it was huge, I've heard a few people say this

La Senza - fitted by a kid, bra did nto fit in any shape or form but that's what I was measured at so I should buy it!!!

    Debenhams weren't too bad either.

Bravissimo are fantastic. A bra should feel tight as you want it to support you.

I'm a 32F/FF and wear a size 10/12 although mostly a 10. I'm only 5ft and have a small frame hence the back size but my boobs are bigger since I had my little boy a couple of years ago.

Size 14 top, 36 back on bra. Sometimes I can fit into a 12 too depending on the style.

Size 12 Top. And 36 back on Bra size. I recently got fitted and measure properly at M&S and it turned out i was wearing my Bras 2 sizes too small!!

I was wearing a 32 back!! I guess I was in denial that anything bigger than a 32 meant i was fat lol. But now i have perfectly fitting bras and they are comfortable!! Bonus lol.

    Good Luck Smiley smile

    Bravissimo all the way ladies!

I am a size 14/16 but I wear a 32H! - within about 20 minutes of walking around wearing a 34 back, the damn thing is loose which is not ideal on hot days!! 32 sits really comfortably.

I am going to bravissimo in a few weeks to get my wedding bra - I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!

It's not worth guessing, you should go and be measured properly - I recently went for my underwear to a local independent shop and had the surprise of my life as I always thought I had a small bust and for years have been wearing 36B (as fitted by M&S - have since heard lots of complaints about their fitting) Turns out I'm a 34E! I wear a size 14/16 top.

Ended up spending a fortune on my wedding underwear and also buying some everyday bras - the difference in the look and feel is just amazing!
