Personal wedding website

Did any one use one of these?? If so what site did you use.

im after a site that will enable me to keep our guest informed of the planning stages and all the need to know information... Ie directions to venue, local hotels, gift list, menus, etc... Limiting the number of inserts I'll have to include in invites.

guest should also ideally be able to RSVP and select menu choices online also.

Im also keen on having an area where guest can upload their picture they've taken on the day in a password protected area that can only me accessed by other guest to avoid pictures floating around on Facebook and other social networking sites.

the site will also be my Save the date.

im trying to start setting it up now with the hope of going live with the site by the start of August..

so many options out there, what did you use and how did you find it?

We considered having one when we first started wedding planning but then changed our mind.

When we were thinking of having one however I made one up using weebly and I was very impressed, it seemed simple to use and looked quite professional when it was finished ;-)

We used Getting Married and put no inserts in the invite as a result. Did everything we needed, for free. We put our gift suggestions on too. And photos can be uploaded. We have applied a simple password. I think it was really useful, but there's definitely more sophisticated versions around.

We made one from googlesites. It looks good, and it means we did not have all decisions made by the time we sent out websites - we just included the url on the invitation, and added things as and when we decided. It meant we could send out invitations earlier than otherwise as nearly everyone was going to have to travel for the wedding, and it was on a bank holiday weekend. This meant that we got rsvps back quite early and could then send out the reseves without making it obvious they were second best. I would definitely recommend it - rsvps came back qithout too much effort as well.

Zankyou is free and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I used them for all the info you mentioned plus my RSVPs which meant I had them all back in record time. Also there is a song suggestion bit if you want and table plan tool that you can do from your RSVP bit. I loved it! I had simple invites and just stuck the rest of the info on there. Great if you need to make changes as no reprinting of inserts for invites.
