    Whilst its not something that affects me as I don't have children etc, I can totally see why the proposal is totally in appropriate in certain situations. I really hope that your petition can go along way to help.

    Bumpety Bump - AuntieBJ you are amazing, and the petition is going well BUT,

    As some of you know, I used to work for a domestic violence charity in the UK, so I sent the link to the petition to their FB page for them to share.....and it make me think:

    We Hitchers are based all around the UK - imagine if each of us took just 2 minutes out of our day to Google our local Refuge, Womens Aid or other DV or Victim Support service (trust me, they are easy to find) and sent the link to the petition to their e-mail address or FB page? It would be a really simple way to get national coverage quickly......and I know from experience that these agencies care about these issues - they will have networks of workers, volunteers and past and current clients who all care, they will have relationships with local (and sometimes national) media, they will have relationships with their local councils and Members of Parliament....... Honestly Ladies, a 2 minute Google search and a well crafted e-mail could have the power to make this really take off.

    1 in 3 women suffer domestic violence at some point in their lives - you know ALL know someone affected by this, even if you don't realise it.

    Let's stand behind our wonderful AuntieBJ and really make a difference for her and others in her position.
