Phantom of the Opera Stylee

PhantomBride86, 7 December, 2011 at 21:07 Posted on Planning 0 22

Hi All,

I am currently planning my wedding and would like as many fresh ideas as possible.

My fiancee and I are going to have a Phantom of the Opera style wedding breakfast.

Before you think of the ridiculous capes and half masks, it will be a classy event with hints of Phantom..

It wont be overboard.

If you have any ideas or have any thoughts please let me know

Thanks

xx

Sounds an original idea. I am a big fan and off to see it again in April so I would love to be at your wedding! What ideas have you got so far?

So for favours I have decided to do Masquerade masks... Garden Centres have amazing displays at this time of year and beautiful masks.

And Im thinking dusky gold and bright red..

The film is giving me amazing inspiration but it is just making want to marry Gerard Butler instead :-s

Centrepieces - blood red roses maybe? I seem to remember that was a recurring image in the film version.

What about lots of crystals depending on venue either on tables or drapped from ceiling to represent the chandeliers?

    Obviously first dance music!?

Lots of candles too I think would be good

MASSIVE Phatom fan here. You could use sheet music for your menus? I've been designing a Phantom style page for my OOD (which are musical theatre programmes) and I've faded the sheet music right in to the background and made it look like parchment, with writing over the top and I have to say it looks pretty good. The rose features heavily too.

I wanted to walk down the aisle to "The Phantom of the Opera" but I wasn't allowed Smiley sad I got away with making h2b wear tails though Smiley tongue Win.

You could have candelabras like the ones that come up out of the lake?

Sounds like a really fantastic idea - I bet it's going to be gorgeous.

What about using antique style music sheets in there somewhere, perhaps as part of the place settings? I think that that could be a tasteful way to bring a bit of the theme into it - not sure about any other ideas though because I've never seen the Phantom of the Opera (although I really feel that I should!)

Ohhh actually, are you having a colour theme? Is there any possibility of swagging the tables in deep red - very theatrical, but not over the top Smiley smile

If you're handing out confetti, it could be black and red rose petals, and you could make little cones out of the actual book pages.

(sacrilege to destroy a book, but would be awesome to use the French and English editions in some way)

And obv you could copy the dress style too, there's so many versions you could go for:

    THanks :-)

I think we will also be signing the register to Love Never Dies from Love Never Dies, and the walking back up the aisle to Past The Point Of No Return - this thread gave me the idea for Phantom themed - and Phantom is my favourite musical of all time :-)

    Happy hitcher :-)
