Photo booths?

MrsMM2Be, 22 January, 2013 at 21:28 Posted on Planning 0 7

Sorry if this has been asked many times before but I'm wondering what peoples opinions are on hiring photo booths?

Are they worth the money? They seem to average at about £500.

I was hoping to find something a bit different for people to have fun with but I've never actually been to an event with one so don't know if they're popular or just a bit tacky.

Thoughts?

Thanks x

In our experience it totally depends on your guests and how game they are. We've done weddings where literally 5 people have drifted over all night and others where we have been so busy that we've ended up staying an extra couple of hours.

They're great fun if they're well used, but it's probably a 60/40 split.

It's quite a bit of money to put down if you're not really sure so perhaps ask your photographer if this is something they offer, as it'll probably be quite a bit cheaper through them.

    This!

Got to have the right crowd. The good thing is, if your Photographer can do it then they can also encourage people to have a go. I always make it my aim to get the Parents on. It's nice if they get on with the bridal party too because they always help me round people up.

Ours is £200 but it's a tog, rather than a booth per se.

My uni friends and colleagues will love it.

We hired a photo booth for a company party last year and it was great! Definitely looking to get one for our wedding! Everyone had loads of fun dressing up with the fancy dress props and posing for silly photos. The pics are a lovely reminder of your fun day too. X

I spoke to BoothBoys on the phone last night and their service sounds awesome.

I'm sure if you gave them a call they'd be able to give you the info you're looking for.

They are also offering an exclusive discounts to hitched members at the moment, so it might be worth the call or even taking a look at their website.

We've got one as we wanted some extra entertainment for the evening and know our guests are going to love it. It's £495 but have got a really good package for that and we get copies of the photos in a guestbook so it's a nice keep sake for us Smiley smile

I am waiting for the first photographer to turn up claiming that they do "Photobooth reportage style"?

Seriously though, wedding photography is forever evolving and photobooths are an extension of that. As mentioned, its acceptance will be mixed and differ from wedding to wedding.
