Photo editing software?

Kebab thief, 9 February, 2009 at 23:36 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

Can anyone point me in the direction of some software to edit digital photographs please? Is there anything on the net I can download (preferably free)?

I don't need anything super flashy, just want to tinker with a few holiday photos.

TIA

I use picnik a lot for my HPAD, there are some others, what did you want to do? Some have more functions than others.

I'm not sure how to describe it in the proper terms but I've got some underwater shots that I want to try and make look less blue and bring out the natural colours, not sure if it's even possible but have plenty of time to try! Also want to brighten up a couple of dark shots (on land) and tweek a few by cropping etc.

I know what you mean, my underwater shots came out awful, picnik saved them a little

What you want to try to start off is 'autofix' if you arent happy with that you can tweek things individually.

picnik will do all you need

That's pretty much what I use it for, I don't do anything very technical, mainly crop and adjust colour/exposure. I also like some of the effects on picnik, like cross process and tint.

Just been having a play with a photo of a wild pygmy elephant that I took in the jungle and am so pleased with the results! It was far too dark before and I was disappointed because I blew my opportunity to photograph one but now it looks ok. Thank you so much ?

It still needs work but it's sooo much better than it was!

Played with a pic I took of a seahorse too:

I'm very much an amateur but I'd like to get in to it a bit more

Thanks, I'd been looking for one for 11 years when I took this, to say I was chuffed is an understatement!
