Photographer and Video? For real??

cazsmith, 12 October, 2008 at 19:50 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi,

I'm getting married on 22nd November this year and we haven't as yet booked a photographer.. We have found one we are interested in called eagle-eye-photography and the price is very VERY reasonable for the combined package of ohotographyy and filming.. but we're unsure whether it's all for real as they have a very good website but the guy is also a web designer. I can't find any reviews of these people on the net and I'm worried of losing money/not having any photos etc.. I'm probably just being overly paranoid but I was wondereing if anyone had ever heard of these??

Many thanks

Caz x

It depends what you want, personally for the service I offer I couldn't stay in business at the prices he charges for photography, I'd struggle to stay in business for the prices he charges for photography and video!

Obviously a few corners have been cut, they have to be at that price because a good album can cost more than what he charges and a 'decent' one is going to be at least half.

If you want a cheap photographer they could be right up your street, but you do get what you pay for so as long as you keep your expectations in check you might be OK.

I echo Brian's comments re the prices, that is a huge amount to be included for that price, particularly as it includes video. I know of very few photographers who would cover the whole day for that amount, let alone include a video.

You could ask to see a full wedding for both photography and videography. That would give you an idea of what you will get from the whole day.

Maybe a meeting would be a good idea, see how you get on with him and look over some work.

I can understand your concern though, as a bride and a photographer, it is a lot of money to pay out so I understand the need to make sure that you get what you want. However, as with everything I guess you get what you pay for and if it looks too good to be true then it probably is. That said, there are plenty of good photographers out there who don't charge the earth, just do your homework and you will be fine.

    Good luck

    Hi,

Just a word of advice, if you are picking a venue, you visit, check out the food and service, do the same with the video and photograph packages, go and see them, ask to see albums, photos, and wedding dvd's they have already produced. It is your special day, One day, One chance, make sure it counts, so that you will have no dissapointments.

    Have a great day

I agree when we were looking for photographers there were loads that were advertising really good value packages but when we saw the work it wasn't that impressive. We have compromised and got a tailor made package from an experienced photographer who came up with a package we could afford. It doesnt cover the whole day but we are happy we will have decent photographs of just 4 hours then a whole days coverage of mediocore pics if that makes sense? Def look at their work and if you are happy - book it and be glad you got a brill bargain ?
