They are lovely couple to deal with. I loved the photos they took at my wedding in August.

    Thanks Jackie!

We are Durham based but cover Newcastle fairly regularly. We have a couple of Saturdays left next September.

Sometimes the price is a shock, because it is often the first time a couple have ever hired a photographer. If it helps at all, you really do (usually) pay for what you get, both in terms of the quality of albums, and the quality of the work. We actually charge the same per day for a wedding as we do to businesses wanting photography

    - If somone shoots, and burns the images to disk, then you will pay little, as relativly little work has been done (a few hours)
    - If somone shoots, spends all week painstakingly editing and perfecting the images, and then burns them to disk - you have had 1 weeks worth of work from somone
    - If someone shoots your images, and edits them, and designs and produces an album - you have had even more work

When you look at pricing, you need to consider what is actually being done for you - a few hours of work, or a solid week or more etc.

Besides your hubby, your photographs are one of the few permanant thing s left from your wedding day. We know this, we got married in August, and The cake was finished yesterday, the flowers thrown away a week ago, the cards came down over the weekend, and the dress is hanging up in the spare room. We have some fantastic memories, and a superb set of photographs

Of course we are biased, but our advice to you is to look at your budget and figure out what is going to be a permanant memory and reminder, and what will be a fleeting one. You might decide video is the way to go (god forbid - lol)

I agree with the photographer, you only pay for what you get!

It is your Special Day, one day, one chance.

Have a look at Andrea Barrett photography, she is a tremendous photographer.

As for the comment re: video, Video captures the moving image, emotions, tears, laughter, it is the only medium that will truly capture your day, if done professionally. (I too have seen awful examples)! Again the cost is in the time spent editing and producing a great DVD, that will capture your memories, and get better and better as time goes on. It is family history in the making.
