Photographer question

amee, 29 July, 2009 at 12:34 Posted on Planning 0 4

I have been given a rough quote of about £300 for twenty or so pictures.

Is this about right?

There would be a couple at home, some on arrival, signing of registrar and then group pics.

Thanks in advance

Amee

I can't imagine how you'd manage to capture all of that in only 20 snaps, or is it just me?

Have they broken down the cost for you into what you are actually paying for? eg, is it an hourly rate, or is it the cost of the prints/album?

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure, the woman has been dealing with my mum and this is a special rate, or so I believe.

We are having less than 30 people at the wedding so not many groups to take pics of. Once one has been done for aunties/uncles and one for friends the rest would be of hubby and I or bridesmaid, bestman and my mum.

Not sure about the album to be honest. Think mum said that was extra.

We are struggling to choose 100 images for the album! I honestly don't think 20 is nearly enough. By the time you have a couple of yourself at the house, one with your mum, one with your bridesmaid, one with you and your H, one with you, H, your mum, bridesmaid, one of your flowers, dress etc 20 is really limiting yourself.

I got married abroad a squillion or so years ago, and there was just the two of us. We still had 24 pics in an album! 20 is nothing.

You need to find out what happens if you want more? ie is another 20 another £300. You also need to speak to your photographer direct, not let someone else deal with it

I would ask how many images will you get to choose the final 20 from. It is possible that the coverage will be limited heavily in numbers to bring it an at that price.

As mentioned above, 20 images IMHO isn't enough to tell the story of the day. You may well get a basic people coverage although nothing of the detail and spontaneous moments that help bring the coverage alive.
