Photographer Recommendations?

MissWrite, 11 May, 2014 at 22:59 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good photographer? Ideally I'd like to pay no more than £1000. I hate cheesy/staged photos - no jumping in the air or pretending to put my make up on! Just looking for someone to take natural photos yet still capture the emotion of the day.

I'm in the Cheshire area.

Thanks!

You'd prefer to have someone who is more documentary with their style most probably. I wouldn't ask you to look into a mirror and apply your lipstick for example.

Plenty of Photographers will travel and there are great ones on here who I'm sure will be within your budget.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what the official term was for my preferred style. What is reportage? Is there a difference between documentary and reportage? Thanks!

Hello! I'm the "natural photos" type of photographer! A guaranteed cheese free zone!

I'm based in Leeds and work Manchester regularly... not sure how much further away you are than that? Have a nosey at my website and get in touch if you like what you see. My number is on there and you can call me any time for a chat. I switch the phone off when I go to sleep!

Have you checked out the suppliers directory yet? https://www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-photographers/cheshire/ I'm sure other Hitched prides could recommend a photographer they have used.

Hi, whilst I'm not in Cheshire & neither is my photographer, I do know that he is happy to travel & does so frequently. Him & his wife are lovely, down-to-earth people who like to take shots of, well, just about everything in a reportage style as well as the more formal shots. They are called ILTO Photography, Paul Cresswell & are about the cost of what you're wanting.

If these are not for you, just keep looking. I looked on the photographers Assocation website which has links to loads.

    Good luck

Ah my lady is no good then. She is under £1000 and with family in Cheshire she is double based and covers the area...........................BUT I picked her because she does quirky shots.

My pinterest is full of cheese: http://gb.pinterest.com/salmikebride/toggy-board/

And that is just the sort of thing she shoots! Eeeek it's exciting.

However I'm seeing her today to discuss album options so I can ask if she knows of anyone more your style in your area if you want? I'll report back later!

    Hi Miss Write.

Now days "journalistic", "reportage" and "documentary" are the terms used. Personally I would probably put myself into those categories and am certified to cheese free. The great thing about chatting the real moment is that you get the the real emotion of not only the person you photographing but also everyone else around, and no matter how good you are with cheese there is just no way you will get that perfect in a posed shot.

I do love getting doing couple photos, and even then its with very little posing ( if any! ) , in fact some of my favourite couple shots are of the couple standing together and talking and laughing, this makes for a brilliant photo that not only can look brilliant but also brings back memories.

While I am not in Cheshire, I available and in within your budget.

Perhaps drop by my site (www.dewandemmer.com) and have a look through my photos, and if what you see grabs your attention then you can always drop me an email or even give me a call.

"cheese free" - I really like that term... I think I might use it on the website somewhere!

I'm sure you'll find plenty of photographers to choose from. There are lots of documentary types amongst us and many of us travel. All the best with your search Smiley smile

    Hi there.

I'm 20 mins from the cheshire border and fit both your requirements of natural non cheese reportage and under £1000.

I am however fully booked for 2014 and 50% booked for 2015 so dates are slim, but send me a message with your wedding date and I'll send you a brochure and check availabilty

    Thanks
