Photographer: reviews needed

I just had a quick look and I like his work. The skin tones are very nice - I suppose that's a photographer-y thing to say! I'd ask to view a couple of full weddings at a time of year similar to your wedding. Then meet or have a phone chat and see if you get along. If all is well book him.

When it comes to photographers, reviews don't always help, even the worst wedding photographers can have decent reviews!

We've already met them and like them and their work. I just thought it's best to check external reviews first. But other than on their FB page I couldn't find any.

The best advice I can give is to see hundreds of photos from say 3 weddings from around the same time you are having your wedding, its ok to look at the best photos from all weddings but you really need to see how a photographer shoots a whole wedding.

Could you maybe ask your photographer for a couple of references of weddings they've done so you can contact the couple's themselves?

Alternatively, find some Facebook groups local to you to see if anyone has used them? If they have a Facebook business page, people can leave comments on there- you could message someone for more indepth information?

Their work looks really good. As others suggested - ask for 2-3 full wedding galleries ideally from a similar venue or meet with them for a chat and have a look at some albums.

Been thinking about this, you really should have to ask to see more photos from one wedding, they should be on the site for all to see, why are they being hidden in the first place, if you only see a handful of images from one wedding then at least try and see some blog posts where there should be a lot more photos from each wedding.
