Photographers - What are you getting for your money?

For people who have booked their photographers or OM's. What was included in your package and how much did it cost you? I'm just about to pop a cheque into the envelope with our contract.. Just checking I'm getting a decent deal. You don't have to answer of course, thanks in advance! ?

    The one we are going to see in the New year now, offers;

9 hours photographing and a disc of images for £950.00 (these are the

final, culled and edited-colour corrected and processed, images of your day)

If we want an album afterwards, Graphistudio ones will start at £350 for 20 pages, then £12.50 per page thereafter.

Interesting thread as I am just about to book our photographer! We're still in slight negotiations but its looks like we'll be paying £1000 for:

    - Coverage from 2pm to 10pm ish

    - All images on disk, hi-res

    - A DVD slideshow set to music

We're paying £550. That's for around 3 hours coverage, an hour before the ceremony up to the meal starting. I've got a tiny house and with 3 bridesmaids, my kids, my hairdresser, make up person, my Mum, my MIL2B all here at the same time gah I cant be doing with a tog there too! We get an album with that price too.

You certainly may! Nicole Griffin Photography (think her prices have now increased for 2011 but she will still be very reasonably priced for the quality of the photos)

We're paying £300 for 2 photographers for the entire day. Mind you - this is just for them to do their thing. The pictures are then presented on approval for us to then choose and purchase separately, DVD optional, album optional.

We are tight on budget, but it keeps our options open and we dont need to find a big heap of cash all at once.

We're paying £2000 for one tog and his assistant(£200 extra) from getting ready to first dance, all photo's on disc and dvd slideshows for us and parents as well as all editing etc

We're going to have an engagement shoot with him but that's not included above, some may think it expensive but both myself and my OH agreed that we wanted to spend money on the tog as it'll be the lasting memory of our day. We aren't having a vog so we could afford to do this. When I saw my togs photo's there was no one else I would want to shoot my wedding he's awesome! I love looking at his blog each week to see all the amazing photos he produces!

It's funny all your posts have been recommending this company and they have been caught out on here posing as Brides in the past. In one of your previous few posts you say "Our man is £775 for the day's coverage including a second photographer and a leather album. We love his work" You are not doing your photographer any favours if you are a genuine client and if you are the photographer you should be ashamed.

I may be wrong, but a lot of the wedding images look as though they got a model in for the shot. No galleries as such with any concurrent images.

    Ours is £950. This covers:

    - All day attendance from preparations to first dance (excluding wedding breakfast - he will pop off for a bite to eat then!)

    - Proof book with all corrected images to keep

    - DVD of all images to keep & reprint from

We can also buy an album at a later date, our tog does his own in-house so it's no problem to go back later. He comes highly recommended through word of mouth and we also met him and really liked him, really genuinely nice chap with lots of experience of shooting our church and exactly the kind of style we wanted.

When I booked my photographer, I made sure to clarify the coverage hours—most packages offered 6 to 12 hours, with additional fees for extra hours. I also asked if an engagement session was included and if a second shooter could be added. I confirmed how many edited, high-resolution photos I’d receive and whether albums or prints were included, or if they’d be extra. Since my venue was a bit further away, I made sure to ask about travel fees. Once I had all the details, I felt confident I was getting a good deal. Afterward, I considered turning my wedding photos into keepsakes by exploring the best print on demand products to sell , like custom photo books or framed prints.
