Hello again, as the thread title suggests I have another question. I've found a photographer I like, and have had a very good personal recommendation about their work. One of the album options is a Seldex one, an Australian company. I've looked at their own website and they look pretty good, and I got to see some 'in the flesh' so to speak, at my consultation.
The photographer names a specific size in their packages (it's the 11"x14" photojournal bookbound album with 15 pages). But it's out my budget. I've seen a smaller one on the Seldex website - the 9"x9" square art album (it's the bordered style I like rather than a flush storybook style). They don't quote prices as it's for professional photographers only. I know there are many additional factors such as page layout and cover material but I was wondering if I should raise this as an option with the photographer to see if a smaller album would bring the price down.
My question is, would you find it reasonable or cheeky for a client to ask for a quote on the smaller size even though it's not listed in their packages? I'm reluctant to ask for a whopping great discount on the ones they have listed as I understand that photographers have to cover their costs and make a profit. I do love the style though and got on well with the photographer during our consultation.
Mmmm.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.
Cheers ?
