Photography help please.

louisep, 8 October, 2008 at 17:04 Posted on Planning 0 16

Not that i am doing much planning at the moment, but our photographer has failed to turn up to an appointment with us twice now.

she is an old friend of my h2b's and has said that she will do the photography and the vidio for us at a good price but has not given us a price as yet, what i dont want is to leave it too late for her to come back with a price and miss out on booking someone else if she does not confirm with us.

any suggestions my hitched buddies x x x

    Hi Louise

There are several photographers around on this forum who I am sure could help you out - it would probably help if you could give us a date, location and rough budget so that anyone with that date free can reply to you.

I would be wary about anyone offering to do photography and videography at the same time. I just don't understand how you can be in two places at one unless she is bringing someone with her. Also, I think there are both quite different skills - in which case which one is she best in, maybe keep her for that and get someone else to do the other.

Also, if she is not reliable right now then that suggests she is not fussed about taking the work and might not be that motivated/ committed. Is there any risk she could pull out at the last minute? Go with your gut feeling - if it is already making you nervous then walk away now, or at least start sussing out your other options.

    Hi Louise,

As already metnioned I can't imagine how one person is going to do both video and photography, has she got a partner? Have a look at www.christabelphotography.co.uk They are based in South Wales and you get two photographers and seem really reasonable.

Thats said, any pro photographer would feel a bit reluctant to try to steal anothers wedding....whatever the reason. Its down to you to decide you want to change photographer. Any real pro should not lead you down that path, although many would be happy to help once you have made that decision to look elsewhere.........

    Hope that makes sense.....

Feel free to email me about photographers in your area if you do decide to make a change.

    Hi,

Don't just wait, visit some more Photographers and Video people, look at the work they have done, make sure it is what you want. Compare them, for price and quality.

Your Wedding day is Special it is a once only, one chance.
