Photo's for guest book

Wherts2b, 21 November, 2011 at 12:26 Posted on Planning 0 11

Has anyone got any ideas re the above?

Polaroid cameras are expensive and I've seen a post on here about Polaroid Pogo printers which you bluetooth to from your phone or connect to digital camera but it all seems a bit of a faff.

I would really like to have photo's of guests on their comment page as I think we would get some funny shots and would capture those who you the photographer doesn't get

Could you not just leave a digital camera/disposable camera by the guestbook and then print them after the wedding?

Yeah I suppose so, why didn't I think of something so simple! Would just have to make sure people left sufficient space to stick it in afterwards!

Have you already bought a guest book? If not, you might be able to find loose-leaf ones, where you could insert pages after the event? Or you could consider an alternative like a wish tree, where guests write on tags. You can then assemble these tags with the relevant photos at a later date, into a scrapbook.

Yeah i've already ordered the guest book ? I was worried about people damaging my camera but I may just leave disposables on a table with the guest book and hope for the best lol

The pogo printers are very easy and personally this is what I would recommend if you want on the night prints for guests to stick in the guest book.

No need to bluetooth or faff around, you can just attach the pogo to a standard digital camera via the USB port. What's more, the pogo will print on sticky backed paper, ready to place directly into your book. This is a very popular request from out clients. Obviously the print quality isn't perfect lab standard, but it is reasonable and great for a laugh, especially if you are having any props.

My MOH is using a pogo at her wedding and if it all goes well I can borrow it for mine. Looks pretty good I think, and different!

This was what we going to do. The day before when we setting things up at the venue, I checked that the Pogo was working. The camera had a clean memory card in it and we tested it all okay.

On the day we went to get the ball rolling with the guest book, and it refused to print! We disconnected everything, reconnected it and it still wouldn't work. Anyway we sent the guest book around and thought about printing the pics afterwards.

On the Sunday I gave it another go with the very same camera and it printed first time! Gremlins or what. That was the only 'glitch' on the day, and I laughed it off.

Our TOG had already said that he would stay to take pics of our evening guests so we scrapped the idea of a guest book and used chalk boards. Mind you as the alcohol flowed the more random the messages became?

these are just some a friend took when we get our TOG's pics back they will be edited, , , , can't wait, , , ,

Our TOG did ours - it wasn't cheap but I am so glad we paid for it - it's like a proper glossy hard backed book. Here is a sample page.

That was our original plan, we bought the post cards and then changed our minds. We will make them into a book when we get them back, only cost about £20/£30 to do them yourself.
