Seriously, if I had a picture of my first specs (I don't) then you would wet yourself laughing. They were round (think Harry Potter) and all round the rim was multicoloured like a rainbow. I ran all the way to the opticians to collect them.

I'm literally crying here. Poor Derek.

They sound lovely! Thing is, his glasses now aren't much better. He has such a strong prescription for glasses the lenses are about 2 inches thick. He has to pay to have them thinned out but even then they can only do them so much.* ?

*He doesn't wear them in public!

I'm round at my parents now actually and if there is a photo, then it would be here. I shall see if I can find anything. If not I know there are tons of pictures of me at various stages of growth in a multitude of hideous ensembles, including crop tops.
