Places to stay near Tunbridge Wells

Hmmmmm - IMO there is a real shortage of value for money accommodation in Tunbridge Wells (we got married there 3 years ago and it was quite a struggle recommending places to people). However, since then a Travelodge has opened that may be worth a look (http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/hotel_overview.php?hotel_id=354) otherwise I would seriously consider going B&B - loads on information on the Tourist Information website: http://www.visittunbridgewells.com/

Thanks both. Travelodge is fully booked :-( and smart and simple's cheapest is £105! Nice hotel though, we have stayed there before.

Alternatively, there's an Innkeepers Lodge just outside TW in Southborough (only about 2 miles out) - might be worth checking out. http://www.thehandandsceptre.co.uk/accommodation.htm or the Russell Hotel is more central in TW: http://www.russell-hotel.com/

Ah, was going to suggest s and s or the travelodge. have you tried the hotel at pembury, I can never remember the name, it's not that pricey I don't think? Ramada rings a bell.

other than that some pubs offer rooms. there's one in tonbridge in three elm lane, I can't remember the name but they do rooms. or there's a travelodge/premier inn type place at the hilden manor tonbridge as well.

There is a pub called the Hand & Sceptre in Southborough which has rooms, not sure how much they are though

Carpenters Arms is the Tonbridge pub. Hand and Sceptre worth checking out as they revamped it a couple of years back, good idea...
