Planning before booking the big day??

germaki, 7 May, 2012 at 20:23 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi everyone Smiley smile

I'm in a situation where my partner and I aren't able to book our venue till Aug the earliest when we shall have the funds to do so, so in the meantime we are trying to do the small things that can be sorted so I don't get too stressed and wait till the venue is booked before doing them.

I'm just wondering what things did you do/buy perhaps before you booked your venue?

Em xx

You can sort yourself and OH out (dress, suit, shoes, etc) and your bridesmaids / ushers outfits.

Other stuff is going to depend on if you know what you want on the day - if you want to do alot of stuff yourself you could start making bits and bobs.

You will need a date for suppliers though so that they can pencil you in.

You will have plenty of time from August until October next year to get things sorted so don;t be panicking.

I'm also an October 2013 bride so I look forward to planning along with you Smiley smile

Luckily OH has decided on what type of suit he is having, and I have been looking at dresses online and fall in love with almost everything I see lol!

I've started to look for favours, shoes, table decorations and other things that I can buy and put into a box and store untill needed.

    Hi Em,

We are in the same boat hon, wanting to get married in Greece and saving to do so. We wont be booking until next year for 2014 at this rate, however in the mean time you can arrange looking into all the extras. Themes, colours, food, outfits, togs etc etc. The more you revise the clearer the decisions will be to make in August/September.

I realise this may sound somewhat psychotic, but I have a lush little binder with all my ideas and companies to look at etc etc.

    Hope this helps xx
