I just wrote in another thread that in the days before the wedding, one of the things I have to do is make sure our house is nice and tody as we are having an open house on the day after the wedding and just wondered what everyone else did / is planning to do on the day after? I know lots of people will be going on honeymoon, but we aren't going until 27th Dec (wedding is on the 8th).

My FMIL asked me if I would arrange a dinner for 45+ people the day after as it would mean getting the marquee hire free of charge at their favourite local restaurant...I nearly fell over...that's almost akin to planning another wedding!

We had breakfast with all our guests, went back to my parents' house with family to open cards and presents, then got the train to Gatwick to stay overnight before our flight the next day.

I'm not 100% sure what we will do but I think probably this. Wake up and have breakfast, we are currently undecided whether to go down with our other guest or eat alone in our room. We have to be out by 11 I think so we will then pack up my car, say the goodbyes and head back to ours- although as we are selling and moving 70 miles away I don't know where the step kids will be on the wedding night poss at oh parents rather than ours with oh's parents so we may need to pick them up on the way. Then I think it will be packing for honeymoon and kids packing for going to their mums and takeaway tea, then hopefully going on honeymoon on the Sunday. It's all so exciting.

Also, I thought this post on AOW (Any other Woman blog) was quite apt considering this thread...

We are getting up at the venue for brekky with those that stayed. Then we'll put all our gear on & get some 'outside the venue' pics. (our ceremony is at 4pm, so it'll be too dark to do this on the day)

OH will then drive me to my friends to pick up my car, then go back to my mums where we'll do more pics.

Then later on I'll go muck my pony out & walk my dogs. The best bit will be that the day after the wedding is Xmas eve, so I will be all excited all over again as Xmas day is my favourite day of the year! ?
