What type of TV is better a Plasma or LCD not sure what to go for?

Also can any of these tvs be fitted to the wall or do you need to buy a special type?

Thanks

Most LCD/Plasma tv's can be wall mounted, you just need to get the correct bracket. We have both our tv's fitted to the wall and the bracket we needed for the big living room one was £250 but I blagged the salesman into giving it me for free along with a surround sound system as I paid cash for tv. That might be worth a try for you as IIRC, the bracket for our small tv in the bedroom was about £70.

Thank you. I Notice that alot of the tvs have little stands attached to them, do they unscrew to put them on the wall?

    Thank you

Yeah, they just unscrew from the bottom really easily, just don't try and stand your tv up afterwards though like I did ?

    Plasma, by a long way.
LCDs may also look quite blocky when viewed closer, Plasmas are also far better when viewed off axis.

Those of you who have them in your bedroom - do you just have a plug in internal aerial (one of those wire things)?

I'm about to change our enormous bulky tv for an LCD one in the bedroom and I've read one review of the TV I'm after that says you can't.

We only have an external TV aerial in the lounge.

We bought this one on monday. It was the best we could find as a lot of flat screens get black ghosting. And this has a 'stuff magazine' award, which OH gets excited about!

We've got an external lounge in the our bedroom Alison which is connected up to a freeview box. We did try it with one of the indoor aerials but the reception was terrible.

My H reckons if the TV has freeview built in then it won't need an aerial plugging in - is that correct?

There's no way we can get an external aerial put in to our room. Unfortunately.

It used to be that plasma was the best if you want a large screen, and LCD for 37" and under. This is mainly because the larger the LCD screen, the further away you needed to be to view without it looking pixelated.
However we've just bought a 37" Aoc LCD and whilst I was researching I found a few articles that say LCD is slowly starting to catch up to plasma on the quality stakes even on larger screens.

The external aerial still goes in at the back, just like a freeview box. It's just the "freeview box" is inside the tv and not sat next to it.

As Sare said, you still need the aerial even though the freeview is built into the TV, just like you still need an aerial with just a normal freeview box.

It might do Alison but I doubt it as you do need a pretty decent signal to pick up freeview, my mum can't even get it on her external aerial so she had to stick with sky instead.

    Right I get it now.
It's probably not worth buying freeview integrated then as we probably won't be able to get signal.

We have crap reception in our flat, but we bought a signal booster from Arrrguus and it's been fab! We now have an intergrated freeview in our tv and a separate on for recording!

So do you have a freeview recordable box connected to your tv with built in freeview?
