I was considering doing this and roping one or two friends into doing it with me.

I did the full 26.2 miles this year and have rounded up a group of 15 (incuding my husband) to sign up for next year.

Its a great event and I highly recommend anyone to do it. I'm not very fit at all and am asthmatic so if I can do it anyone can.

The online entries go very very quickly so be ready and refreshing at 9am. I missed out them these last year but got a place by downloading the form and posting it off that day. Its first come first served so get in there quick.

    Online entries - 16th October

    Download form - 22nd October

Hope that helps. I still have my pack from last year with training tips, info for the night, etc if anyone wants to know more.

Maybe we could have a hitched meet? ?

I was going to ask my best friend to do it with me, but she will only be 2 months post giving birth, so that will be a no no!

I'm sure there were others from here last year that did it (I'm a long time lurker, since 2003 actually?) but can't remember whether there was a meet?

You are more than welcome to walk with me if you can't convince anyone, 26.2 miles is a hell of a long way on your own.

I did it 15 weeks post birth and no, I wouldn't recommend it! The last 8 miles were agonising due to engorged boobs :-(

I wouldn't mind doing it again next year actually... hitched meet sounds great.

Maybe a few hitchers should get together to do it in aid of Evelina and CCirish, who have both been effected by breast cancer? To be honest i'm struggling to find someone to do this with me, so if anybody want to do this with me for that cause, that would be great.

Evelina and CCirish, I really hope you don't mind ?

I'm having difficulty recruiting people at work and I'd love to do it with some Hitchers!

I'm also considering doing this and at the moment will be going on my own (bill no-mates me!!). So I'm up for a Hitched meet so I dont have ot do it on my own!

I've been considering doing this, but hadn't got round to checking the date. If I'm available on that day I'd be up for joining a Hitched team.

I'd be up for doing a hitched walk. I mostly lurk here but I lost my post count in the 'changeover'

I don't think I will be able to find anyone to do it with me, and it;s a long walk on your own.

You need to register beforehand. Registration is happening over the next few weeks!

I did this in 2004 and it was one of the most fantastic experiences iv ever had. I did the whole 26.2 miles and my partner pulled out 8 weeks before so i did it on my own, i met some fantastic people on the way round and they had some heartbreaking stories. The most emotional moment was when we were starting, everyone just errupted into "you'll never walk alone". Everyone was crying their eyes out.

I would really recommend anyone to do it, the training is hard and takes up a lot of time, but seeing the sun rise over london makes it all worth while. Unfortunately im out this year as i have torn cartlidge in my knee and i am waiting for surgery, otherwise id be there with you all.

Go and do it, its such a fab thing to be part of.

    Love

Oooh, thanks for posting this. It's something I've considered in the past, but didn't know that much about entering. I tried persuading my mum to do it. She wasn't keen on the idea of walking at night, and really wasn't keen on the idea of stripping down to her bra ! If I get a place, and if there's a Hitched group going - then count me in !
