Please can someone teach me how to use this forum?!

Hiya, would be very grateful if a computer boffin could help me! I know I'm meant to post in the usage bit but the tips there don't seem to work for me, I'm sure I don't have all the options I should. Whenever I write a post, even with paragraphs, it always comes out in one long line (as you can no doubt see!). There is no option to change the font. I have four tabs at the top saying 'compose, options, related, preview'. In the options there is just the icons (nothing else like font etc) but if I select one it only shows in the subject box and I can't get it in the actual message. I did put a picture on for me (is it the avatar or something) but for some reason it no longer shows up. What am I doing wrong?! Thanks for any replies.

I can see your avatar - a red handbag. Go to Edit Profile at the top right hand corner of the screen, check under Site Options that Display User Avatars is set to Yes and also under Avatar that Enable Avatar is set to Yes.

As far as I can tell the only options for changing the font are the Bold, Italic and Underline buttons on the bar above where you type, unless you know HTML then you can alter it using the HTML button on the same tool bar. The icons are in the same tool bar (the smiley face). A little box should pop up, which you might need to make bigger so you can see them all (hover your cursor over a corner of the box until it changes to a two-ended arrow, then keep your left mouse button down and drag the box outwards). ?

As for not putting in line breaks, are you using a Mac? I know some Mac users had the same problem. Not sure how/if they resolved it, sorry. Again, you can physically put the code for a line break in the HTML.

Thank you very much HG! I changed some bits about in the site options and now have the toolbar you said about which I never had before. ? See!
