Please could you flash your invites!

lamby, 18 March, 2010 at 11:18 Posted on Planning 0 25

Morning! I'm still struggling to decide on invites, and I know many of you highly recommend Vista Print. Wonder if you can give me a cheeky flash of your invites for some inspiration and to help work out what I can / can't have from different places! OOS and evening invites etc also welcome! If you don't mind, could you also say where they're from and how much they cost? I'm just not having much look on my searches and could do with some help (okay, some ideas to steal, I admit it!!) Thanks :0)

    Hey,

These are ours - they are tea towels! I am actually in love with them! Maybe I'll marry them instead of my H2B!

    They are from www.weddingteatowels.co.uk

Can't wait to start seeing / hearing peoples reactions when I give them out. Eek!

    Gillsy,

I'm making my own invites too. Where did you get the wedding invitation writing bit from? It's what I've been looking for!

Great invites. I know I've posted that I'm gonna make mine for the last few weeks but we're definetely making them this weekend so any inspiration is great for me to.

Bethan ~ I've bought the gatefold cards but I was trying to work out how you keep them closed. Is the ribbon tied or just decorative?

Just decorative. There's a clear round double sided sticky thing on the flap to hold it down. x

As I'm making mine myself I'm not really sure what a 'clear round double sided sticky thing' might be. Do you think I could use velcro? Not sure if this is sophisticated enough, make just tie with ribbon.

Hope this thread has helped lamby, sorry for piggybacking it slightly with my questions, but hopefully I'll have something to flash after the weekend!

I struggled with this too so ended up printing them out on a sheet of A4 card the same as the invitations and cutting to size - figured that would be the best way. Hope this helps.

? she meant repositionable glue dots. WH smiths or similar should have some. The velcro type tend to be so strong that they rip off the card. Hope that helps.

No, as they are repositionable they can be re sealed and opened a few times before they lose the stickiness.

    Hiya

Have been trying to make my own pocketfold type invites, is the general concensus that repositional glue dots are better than velcro dots?

I'd also heard that velcro dots can make the whole thing quite thick and therefore not covered by standard postage - with guests having to fork out extra to collect them from the sorting office.

    Suzanne from Prettywild,

I only really wanted a printed style of invitation and these were perfect especially since the design was bespoke.

I'd take a look at www.prettywild.co.uk - Suzanne will design and make something amazing!

I made my own pocketfolds. You can't see on the pics but the cream part is actually wallpaper and has a shiny design on it!

    Hi

I found this wonderful lady who is going to handwritten all my invitations in Caligraphy Script she'll even personalise them to the colour you want, the writting, the names of the people and everything so you could if you wanted have every invitation different. All i had to provide were the blank invitations which i picked up for £4 ivory invites with envelopes. The writing will make it much more personal than just been printed .
