This is what we are having, originally we were going to have balloons but so glad we changed our minds, although there will still be balloons on the 'kids table' x

How tall are they Lorna? We were having balloons too but I cancelled them. I was thinking martini glasses but I really like the lillie vases but they cost so much to decorate x

To be honest, lily vase centrepieces are cheaper than martini glass centrepieces! Martini vases are quite expensive compared to the lily vase. The good thing about the lily vase is you only need a few stems with some grass and it makes quite a dramatic impact on the room. If you use coloured opaque glass rather than clear glass, this saves you the cost of filling it with gel, beads, sand or whatever.

Except we aren't having those pots inside - we have smaller vinatgey ones. The have pink petals to go on the table around the cages.

We had lights at the bottom of the vase so they were really nice at night. Sorry this is the only photo I have.

My centre pieces aren't really that exciting tbh but I liked them at the time so I'm not disappointed.

Thanks girls, they are all fab. Think I have decided on the black lilli vase with either some calla lillies and greenary or some red poppies that we saw today. I have mirrored plates too and some sparkly gems on a satin red runner over the table.

    Thanks for the inspiration xx

Might be worth just asking your florist if she hires out the vases - this could save you buying them.

ClaireyFairy 2 - thanks, they are from www.melodymaison.co.uk - I bought them rather than hire as the cheapest hire i saw was about £15 and they were only £18 to buy so I can sell them after?

Little tip - they are priced just over £20 but I emailed their customer services to say i was going to be buying quite a few things for my wedding and could i get a discount and they emailed back with a 10% off code, which is why i only paid £18 each. Haha i didnt actually think it would work but it did! x

I emailed a company yesterday asking for something, an idea with vases for a budget of £20. I got mail back telling me that they were having issues mailing me. She finally sent me one back with an attachment not for me stating I had spelt her name Tracy with an E and that it was incorrect by placing 20 E's in a bracket saying no E. Then had to cheek to tell me she would probably have to start again and make an attachement for me and that there was nothing in the £20 bracket. I told her to save her self and not to bother as it seemed I was too much hassle. Cheek of it say!!

Eh? What is wrong with people - grrrr this makes me so angry! Is there any wonder florists get a bad name AAAGGGHHH! Cheeky **** !!! You did right to tell her where to stick it! The first thing we are taught at college is to work within budget - our job is to come up with ideas within a budget - that's what we are trained for. Definitely try some different florists! We aren't all like her honest!

You can do Lily vases quite cheaply. A stem of Lillies in a long vase should cost no more than £15.00 - £20.00 per table including the vase. Here are a few examples:

Thank you Sherrie, I have priced on fle bay for 10 at £53 including £7 postage. Is this about right? Spoke to a florist and she said she couldnt give me a price of lillies as they change and would only know when I had booked them but could be £1.50 per one xx

Very similiar to the pictures you posted, but ours was more rustic with with little lanterns hanging from twigs, obviusly for wish tree we will just want the plain branches in nice vase with pine cones in etc. They were very good at bows hire and very accomadating, running round trying different things on the table and I must have been royal pain in backside as I kept saying 'no, too..this. too..that .not enough this' I think for those centrepieces I think it is really reasonable to hire as it would cost a fortune to buy and it has real wow factor.
