Please help- Hen Night again! Locations within 2hrs of Sheffield?

tressls, 18 June, 2011 at 21:30 Posted on Planning 0 17

As per earlier post I am thinking of going to a B&B still but just with my mate, still go out for drinks and food, shop maybe? Needs to be somewhere within 2hours of Sheffield and not a dump! Only me and her now x

How about Manchester? Its only an hour on the train from Sheffield station...or Leeds?

I was going to suggest York - or maybe Derby way / peak district?

Ive just got back from Leeds and had a lovely time, we also went to Harrogate for the day & I agree it is really lovely and pretty there! I recommend Betty's tea room for afternoon x

For shopping, eating and a few drinks, Harrogate, Leeds or York for sure! If you've never been to Betty's Tea Rooms - you must! They have them in both York and Harrogate. If you fancy something a little bit more out in the country, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales. - Brenda (20 mins from Sheffield up the M1 in Dewsbury!)

I must admit i Always have to be home before dark coz thats when the 'sopians come out to play! ?

There's quite a few of us Yorkshire girls on here! I used to live in Sheffield donkeys years ago in Firvale. This was back in the days of the Hole in the Road!

Ahhh my MIL2B told me about that (as I'm not actually a northerner - I'm a transplanted southerner)

I actually met my hubby on a night out to Josephine's nightclub in Sheffield - this was long after I'd left Sheffield and moved. We were on a coach going to someone's 21st do there and I told him about the hole in the road and he thought I was nuts! I said I would show him when we got to Sheffield - imagine my disappointment to find that they'd filled it in Smiley sad How to look a numpty in one easy lesson!

Hehe! Thanks girls will suggest Leeds or York to my best mate!

Oooh I have a friend from Worksop and she is always telling me bad things, says it's inbred teehee!! Mind you, Sheffield's not that brilliant, I don;t like it here (lived here all my life).

Hope I didn;t do the wrong thing in cancelling the hen do but with numbers dwindling I didn;t wannt lose £25 booking the b&b (and lose my mate £35 too), and then just have minimal people there, 2 of which I don;t know- imagine how sad I would have looked, inviting people on a hen do for them to discpver they were the only guests!! x
